  • I don’t know what’s worse, that this isn’t released on any console or that the thought of acquiring a mobile device for it actually crossed my mind.

In your defense, you could use the smartphone for a lot of other useful stuff, so it definitely wouldn’t be an ill-advised purchase.

  • I’m so “detached” from the smartphone deal that a lot of this goes into resisting the idea of getting one exactly because I don’t need it: I don’t want to check my e-mail, I don’t want to update a social network profile, I don’t want to play something on it. I don’t want to handle my phone unless I get texted or receive a call.
So part of not being “happy” with this and related releases is definitely on my side, for sure. This one in particular because it’s FFV, a title that “somehow”, along with VI, evaded any sort of console remake/enhanced port after the GBA.

Actually, getting a smart phone Lilay is not that hard and expensive to get. You could at least buy like a used one that’s still in great condition. That’s what I did for just over a $100 fron a friend.

With it I was finally able to play FF Dimensions. I think your going to want to upgrade eventually. You don’t have to do all the sophisticated stuff on a smartphone, but you’ll be glad you upgrade TBH in the end.

  • I most surely am not going to play any “reason-based” thing on my end. I am most aware that a lot of it, as I said, is about being hard-headed, you see, I don’t even like touch-screen technology. I literally do not like the fact I need to work something with my finger-tips, so for me a smartphone is lose-lose almost entirely, except for the fact that I could play, for example, FFV on it.
If the reasons were the ones you mentioned, like putting just a bit of money on one to then make use of it and feel satisfied in the future, I would definitely look at it from another angle, but that’s not how I feel. From this point, it’s obviously my loss since I don’t get to play this enhanced “port”.
