Type-0 HD Final Trailer / Episode Duscae

February 5th, 2015 by Tony Garsow

Square Enix has released a final trailer for Final Fantasy Type-0 HD, which also includes another look at Episode Duscae. Be warned, the footage above contains major spoilers for Final Fantasy Type-0 HD. Square Enix has also confirmed that Final Fantasy XV‘s Episode Duscae demo will be available to download when Final Fantasy Type-0 HD releases.

Director Hajime Tabata has also shared that the next Active Time Report presentation will take next month, but may be delayed until March. Topics of the presentations will include gameplay and controls for both Type-0 HD and Episode Duscae.

Final Fantasy Type-0 HD will release on March 17th (North America), March 19th (Japan), and March 20th (Europe) for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Details on a Collector’s Edition can be found here.

A voucher to download the Episode Duscae demo will be available with pre-order of Final Fantasy Type-0 HD.

Final Fantasy XV is currently announced for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Two things that piqued my interest: that strange samurai-like figure resembling Ace, and that beautiful version of “Prelude to Final Fantasy” during the “Episode Duscae” trailer.

yes! I mean I am excited for type-0 but this is great! will definitely be trying out the demo first then going to delve deep into type-0. its safe to say it will be the only game I will be playing for the rest of March.

    I still wish Type-0 was for Vita…

You mean PS4/VITA right? Theres no way u think it would better just being on a handheld and one thats not that popular at that…

    PS3, 360, PS4, X1 and Vita.

I’m actually wondering what made them use the classic tune of the Prelude. Also, isn’t that specific Prelude that’s used here in the video from FF VIII? I haven’t heard it anywhere else besides that and I was surprised to hear it now.

  • Daniel Masterson

unfortunately people just cant accept it and move on. The people who are refusing to buy it because its not releasing on Vita are just hurting themselves.

  • AnimaMagna

Guess that would have been great. But Tabata hadn’t developed for seventh-gen home consoles, and porting to Vita would have meant changing development environment and probably cutting things. Sad, but true.

I feel like Tabata is full of it with most of his comments and has backpedaled on many things hes said in past interviews.

HexaDrive worked on the port and they are familiar with seventh-gen home consoles. The engine that’s being used is a modified engine built for seventh-gen home consoles. Type-0 HD is PS4 and X1 exclusive so SE can sell us a demo and push PS4 sales in Japan.

The game is a PSP port with better lighting. Those higher poly models are only used in the event talking scenes with no lip sync. Take those scenes away and what have they actually done to this game? I have no doubt that Type-0 HD could have worked on the Vita.
