This week’s Famitsu features an interview with Final Fantasy Versus XIII director Tetsuya Nomura. Details we’ve obtained about this interview thusfar are about the game’s world map and engine. Nomura commented that he tested the game’s world map last Sunday, a classic feature where players will be able to navigate between towns and dungeons. He remarked that the world map is quite expansive and impressive-looking.
While the game is running on Square-Enix’s Crystal Tools engine, it appears that lighting techniques from the company’s new engine Luminous have been used in Versus XIII. The modified engine Versus XIII uses suits action well.

The thought of travelling over a world map the way you could up until FFIX but with HD graphics is definitely something to look forward to.
Yes What Brandon says, I really want to play this game too. I just know that there will be so many people hating on this game if it don’t turn out how they wanted it to after it’s been in development for so long. But nonetheless I have a feeling I’ll like this game no matter what.
Seem’s very promising!! i want that classic feel of what dungeons and towns were all about, because thats what made Final Fantasy a RPG true experince from day1.

I doubt it will have a classic feel. It will have towns i guess but i don’t think their will be dungeon crawling….if there is … its an action game … it won’t feel the same.
Everyone’s hyped at both type-0 and VS XIII but i hope they know these are both action games much akin to the Kingdom hearts series … i mean, its going to great! but its not going to be final fantasy as everyone thinks it is.

i cant imagen it be classic turn base again lol… i was reffering to the towns and ships and dungeons witch am sure that will be around.
anyways original turn base is dead pretty sad but i look forward to turn base action like the last story XD!
