Yo-kai Watch In-game Crossover Event Returns to Final Fantasy XIV

September 5th, 2017 by Raptorchan

YokaiWatch

For those players who are new to the world of Hydaelyn and had missed the previous Yo-kai Watch event, never fear!

From September 3rd to November 1st 2017, Yo-kai Watch has once more returned to the realm of Eorzea, so if you’re after some cute Yo-kai minions, interesting glamour weapons or the Whisper mounts, now is your chance to grab them!

To start the event, players need only to travel to the city of Ul’dah and speak with the Poor-heeled Youth just outside the main aetheryte. To begin your Yo-kai collection, however, is a different story entirely and players should brace themselves for a challenge.

Players must equip an accessory they obtain through the questline, their very own Yo-kai Watch. Afterward, players must participate in Fates in order to gain Yo-kai medals, these medals can be used as currency to purchase the minion of your choice. Collecting all 13 Yo-kai minions will present players with a Whisper-go mount.

However, there is an even tougher challenge for those looking for something a little more difficult and farm-y. Upon obtaining any Yo-kai minion, by having that minion out with you while participating in Fates, you will begin obtaining Legendary Medals of that specific Yo-kai, which can be turned in for a glamour weapon in the design of that Yo-kai. Collecting all 13 Yo-kai weapons, and thus all 13 minions, will grant players with a Whisper A-Go-Go mount.

Legendary Yo-kai medals have a much lower drop-rate than standard Yo-kai medals do, on top of that, the price for weapons increases gradually, which can make farming for the weapons a bit of a chore. But for those of you who are up for the challenge, a player within the FFXIV community has created a guide for people farming the Legendary medals, which includes the best place to farm fates and the best order in which weapons should be obtained.

Some tips: You can wear the Yo-kai Watch and gain Legendary Medals and Yo-kai Medals at the same time, which can make getting the minions a tad easier. You also do not have to wear your Yo-kai Watch to obtain Legendary Medals, you only need the minion present for Legendary Medals to drop. Also, if you have a job that needs leveling, this event is a sure way to do that!

And for those of you who have medals left over from last year’s event: As mentioned on the Lodestone, this event is identical to the previous Yo-kai event, meaning any left over medals will still work in this one.

Good luck!
