Letter From the FFXIV Producer #8

April 14th, 2011 by Tony Garsow

Final Fantasy XIV director/producer Naoki Yoshida writes to us again this week after battling a fever (I’m only noting this because I’m sick as a dog and can sympathize!) to let us know what’s up in the forthcoming patch as well as their general plans for tackling some issues brought up by the fans that need the team’s attention. Yoshida addressed some concerns about the Tohoku Earthquake’s affect on the development schedule of the game, citing in an earlier letter that he said they would prioritize the seasonal events for spring first. He clarified that statement did not mean that all production on other facets of the game would be halted to allow for this. He proceeded to inform us how the Final Fantasy XIV team is split up into smaller teams that work on specific tasks.

Some other highlights of the article include that a reworking of the battle system and Armory (job) system are underway, as well as a new series of questlines being made available with “The Grand Companies of Eorzea”. It seems Akihiko Yoshida and the art production team have been busily preparing for this.

hey if this is a person involved in the making of final fantasy i would first like to say great job for making such a beautiful game.and it is so beautiful that i would like to ask if your gonna make any final fantasy movies.the games are pretty much interactive movies any way but i think for me itll be easier to just watch the story than to play the game.itll save time and wont ruin some of the games that i get bored of or cant beat beacouse its either too long or one of the monster things are too hard too kill.so im just wondering/recomending that you make some movies outa these.that or is there a way on the game that i can skip the part were i play and go from video clip to another clip.any solution or advice to my questions would help .thank you
