Square Enix will be out in full force at PAX East 2015 in Boston. Both Final Fantasy XIV and Final Fantasy XV will be in attendance with staff from each preparing panels.

Final Fantasy XIV Director/Producer Naoki Yoshida will be talking about Heavensward, the first expansion coming out this Spring. The panel begins at Saturday, March 7th from 12:00PM – 1:00PM at the Albatross Theater.

“Join FINAL FANTASY XIV Producer/Director Naoki Yoshida as he takes the stage to discuss details on the first expansion – Heavensward. Also, Yoshida has a habit of announcing things he shouldn’t, so you won’t want to miss this! (We’ll keep the PR team distracted so they won’t interfere.)”

Final Fantasy XV lead game designers Wan Hazmer and Prasert Prasertvithyakarn will also be hosting a panel based on their experiences thusfar. The panel begins at Saturday, March 7th from 3:00PM – 4:00PM at the Albatross Theater.

“Join two of FINAL FANTASY XV’s lead game designers, Wan Hazmer and Prasert Prasertvithyakarn, as they share their experiences working on one of the most anticipated games of all time. Hazmer and Prasertvithyakarn are attending PAX EAST from SQUARE ENIX’s Tokyo Studios where they work in tandem to bring FINAL FANTASY XV to life. Fans will also be in for a treat with additional information revealed on the upcoming title, FINAL FANTASY TYPE-0 HD!”

‘one of the most anticipated games of all time.’ is right, they made us wait a bloody lifetime…

  • Hiroyuki_Ito_XVI

Too many unknown staff working on FFXV. I’m all for new talent, but I’d like more well known FF veterans to be giving these talks.

  • Josh Asher

all I ever do is see you complain about FF XV. every good bit of news and you just whine somehow. you’re just bitter Ito isn’t involved. If Ito was a part of XV you would be praising it to high heaven

  • Don’t bother man! He gets a kick outta this, He just posts a negative comment and doesn’t respond. He’ll be one of the first in line to buy FF XV and he’ll play it all the way through just so he can bring it down and point out all the things that “Itou would’ve done better”!

  • Firstly, I don’t know what else they can tell us about Type-0 anymore that we don’t know already.

Second, when Final Fantasy XV hits, I’m pretty positive SQEN are gonna have a launch campaign unlike anything they’ve ever done before!

  • Hiroyuki_Ito_XVI

Even if Ito was working on FFXV, I still wouldn’t like it. Matter of fact, I’d hate it even more because a great director like Ito is now working on it and trying to clean up Nomura’s decade long mess.

The reason I dislike FFXV has nothing to do with Ito not working on it. I’m actually happy he’s not working on it. Here’s why FFXV does not appeal to me

    1) I don’t like playing as the Backstreet Boys.
    2) I don’t care for a homoerotic story about bromance.
    3) I don’t want a FF that cares as much about driving as Gran Turismo, Need for Speed, or Forza.
    4) I dislike like the English dub and never play games in Japanese dub.
    5) I like to be able to play as EVERY party member in a FF game. Not just one.
    6) I don’t like the idea of only leveling up when camping instead of as soon as you gain enough EXP.
    7) I don’t like how Magic doesn’t use MP.
    8) I don’t like how Nomura is no longer directing or even working on the game.

I’ll still keep an eye on the game, but I’m wholly pessimistic about it. I expect review scores similar to what FFXIII got, but very different reasons. FFXV will be decent, sure, but people thinking it will restore FF to greatness and really overhyping it. Only a mainline FF by Hiroyuki Ito can restore FF to greatness, even Sakaguchi said so.

  • Hiroyuki_Ito_XVI

LOL! I respond to all replies to my comments.

I won’t be buying FFXV. You can be sure of that as I’ve never bought FFXIII-2 or LR FFXIII until this day. Until this series reestablishes itself as the epitome of JRPGs, it won’t get my money. I have other games worth my time. My only exception was FFXIV ARR, which I bought because it’s a highly rated MMO. As for single-player FF, the Xenoblade series has it beat in everything but graphics.

  • Noctis Pendragon

“Too many unknown staff working on FFXV” , if you are talking about Mr. Hazmer he is working on FF XV since 2011 (or something like that) .
He never talked about FF , he only talks about FF XV.

  • Viktor Kateliev

youre lookin at it the wrong way B,

  • Hiroyuki_Ito_XVI

There is no other way for me to look at it.

  • Hiroyuki_Ito_XVI

Wan Hazmer is a noob on FFXV, though. He joined the team in 2012 with Tabata. I’d rather this PAX panel be given by somebody that has been working on the game since 2006 when it was still VersusXIII.

  • “Has it beat”? Firstly, this isn’t a competition. Each person has his/her own preferences and they play based on those. And second, we still know next to nothing about XV as of yet. Just cause YOU won’t be playing XV “because Hiroyuki Itou isn’t involved in it”, doesn’t mean there won’t be millions of others rushing out to buy it when it releases or to pre-order it when it hits retailers. XV is still being made. Xenoblade is coming out in April/May (I can’t remember). XV still evolves while Xenoblade has reached its peaked (although I’m not denying it’s a pretty epic game, but nowhere near FF XV)

  • Josh Asher

All those points just seem to suggest you hate change imo. No offense but points 1-4 come across as very ignorant, troll-worthy statement/opinions. Every troll I see on the gamefaqs board for example, is always bashing XV for “J-Pop emo Backstreet Boys” or whatever the hell. And who’s to say it’s only a bromance? We already know there is something between Stella and Noctis, my theory is they are star crossed lovers dealt a tragic fate and end up as enemies and can’t be together, maybe Stella even dies, who knows. The big theme for XV is bonds and brotherhood, so what’s wrong with that? It’s better than XII’s boring characters and pointless tag alongs Vaan and Penelo, and almost zero character development. And last time I checked, XV won’t have racing, neither are you constantly driving the car the whole game and there is still plenty of on foot exploration, magitek armor, chocobos, and the possibility of controllable airship which, barring Type-0, hasn’t been seen in the series since, when was it? Oh yeah, freaking FF IX. But I do partly agree with you on points 5, 6, and 9. But we know the story is still EXACTLY THE SAME, Tabata changing it is a myth propagated by XV haters and trolls, and also people who like to hit the panic button/jump the shark, and assume the worst. The gameplay is also still largely the same. Instead of being a Kingdom Hearts clone, it’s coming into its own thing now. Literally the only thing we know for sure that is different or changed is party switching, and that is a bummer yes, oh well. Personally I’m already over that.

Well whatever. You’re entitled to your opinion and I shouldn’t be jumping down your throat, so I’m sorry. Think and feel whatever you want about XV, I guess I can’t help myself because I’m so passionate about it. And yes the wait has been too long but it’s not like there haven’t been sooooo many other great games to play in the meantime. And finally, just FYI, personally I don’t feel XV will be “teh greatest thing evar” and restore FF to “ultimate greatness” or whatever. I just think it’s going to be really, really awesome and amazing. And while the hype of XIII certainly let me down, as well as many other people of course, the hype leading up to XV is now different because it’s tempered with much more open information, details, and SE employees talking directly to the fans about updates and whatnot. Hell, soon we’re gonna get a meaty demo and we know the game isn’t being rushed out a few months afterwards (what happened with XIII).

  • Hiroyuki_Ito_XVI

No way the writing and voice acting in FFXV will be better than FFXII. The awful English dub already confirms that. Let’s just leave it as that. I’m not going to engage in a back-and-forth wall of text debate on the internet.

  • Hiroyuki_Ito_XVI

FYI, if Hiroyuki Ito was working on FFXV, I still wouldn’t be interested in it. My problem is with the game itself, not whoever is making it.

Also, keep dreaming of you think Xenoblade X is “nowhere near” as epic as FFXV. I bet you FFXV will have a much smaller Open World than Xenoblade X, and way less gameplay content. Takahashi said 100% completing Xenoblade X takes over 300 hours. Tabata said 100% completing FFXV will take around 100 hours. Huge difference right there.

  • Josh Asher

Wow, way to pussy out. Fine then, have it your way.

  • Josh Asher

I dunno man. Xenoblade Chronicles X looks damn good. I’m excited for both

  • Hiroyuki_Ito_XVI

I ain’t pussying out on you. I just know from past experience that having a drawn out, wall of text debate with somebody on the internet is a complete waste of time. Why? Because after all is said and done, none of the opposing sides have changed their opinion.

  • Josh Asher

Oh well, fair enough and good point I guess.
