Last weekend at the Final Fantasy 25th Anniversary event, team Final Fantasy XIV showed off more of the vast changes coming to Eorzea in January’s reboot. The entire hour-long presentation is now online for your viewing pleasure, and be sure to enable English subtitles on the video!
Director Naoki “Yoshi-P” Yoshida takes us through A Realm Reborn, with appearances by Luminous technical director Yoshihisa Hashimoto, assistant director Kazuya Niinou, battle director Akihiko Matsui, and sound director Masayoshi “Loves-Knee-High-Socks” Soken. Together they explain how the game was rebuilt from the ground up.

From what I gather, the team will be showing us new footage throughout the fall and winter — and it’ll be in bite-sized chunks. They’ll do it that way so they won’t reveal things too quickly that people unfamiliar with FFXIV or A Realm Reborn gloss over all the vast changes the game has undergone.
