Square Enix North America sent over a batch of new screenshots detailing the PS3 version of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, which will sport a special interface to be used with the DualShock 3 controller. The PC version of the game will also have a controller setup like this so however you like to play, you’ll be able to take advantage of this new interface. Called the Cross Hotbar interface, is one of many changes coming in Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn — out early next year.
In the artwork below you can see a new Level 40 dungeon, and Amon from Final Fantasy III making an appearance.

I knew that’s who i think it was Amon. and am glad there’s gonna be a level 40 dungeon but cutter’s cry should had been level 40 dungeon not 50.ps3 version looking good so far.
I was thinking it was Hein from the live letter, but the press release and assets say Amon. Someone on Team XIV really likes Final Fantasy III.
is it just me or do those graphics look very…blurry and muddy. The interface looks sharp and clear but the graphics.. not so much?
@Rube
Yea, the PS3 can’t stand up against a good PC anymore, but luckily the game is modeled to scale upwards when PS4 is released, so it will only get better at that point.
Aside from that, I believe the UI is client side, so it isn’t affected by the overall graphics. Also, the graphics are still alpha stage, it will hopefully look a lot better by release.
I kinda think the graininess gives it a unique look though imo.
The graphics really have to improve a little, but the game stills amazing, i will buy it as soon as it gets out =D
