Attack on Final Fantasy XIV Titan

July 26th, 2013 by Tony Garsow

titan

As you progress through the main story of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, you’ll eventually encounter the Primals, classic Final Fantasy summons that come to inhabit Eorzea. Those that have played in Beta Phase 3 may have already tested their mettle against Ifrit, but know that other Primals will eventually cross your path at later levels.

In today’s Letter from the Producer, Naoki “Yoshi-P” Yoshida gives us an intimate look at another Primal encounter: Titan. While you’ll encounter this guy in the main storyline, and potentially at a lower level, you’ll also have the option to challenge a special Hard Mode version once you attain the maximum level of 50. Yoshi-P assures us that these encounters will be no pushover, as his character is pushed over the edge of Titan’s arena in the new developer screenshots below.

Other Primals we’ll see in Final Fantasy XIV include: Ifrit, Garuda, Odin, Leviathan, Ramuh, and Shiva. At least, those are the ones that have been revealed thusfar! You’ll have the option of taking on these encounters through the Duty Finder, a matchmaking service that will automatically assemble a party with other players based on your combat roles. More on that here.

You can read the entirety of the Producer’s letter here.

Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn launches on August 27th for Windows PC and PlayStation 3; a PlayStation 4 version will release next year.
