A snippet of an interview from this week’s Famitsu involves Final Fantasy producer Yoshinori Kitase hinting again at a third Final Fantasy XIII game. “The new project is currently up and running”, to accurately paraphrase. We’re a month out from the Final Fantasy 25th Anniversary Event — where Motomu Toriyama and Yoshinori Kitase will host a panel on new developments for “Lightning’s Saga”.
It should also be noted that a title hasn’t directly been mentioned, leading speculation that the game may not be called “Final Fantasy XIII-3″.

I wonder if SE target the stateside new for the 25 anniversary as well. I guess This might be only targeting on japan on ff news.
I was already saying that the 3rd game WONT have “XIII-3″ in the title. It’ll be something along the lines of FFVII: Dirge of Cerberus.
And it’ll be some actionish game featuring lightning that should conclude the FFXIII story.

all i have to say is they better not screw this one up like they did 13-2. what was the point of saving serah if you kill her in the next instalment. the time thing was great but the ending omfg it was the worst thing ever to hit final fantasy. and i kinda missed the summons. but hopefully this next installment will be better.
From previous news, don’t you think this game will be FF Haeresis XIII? And that it’ll be action oriented, featuring Lightning?

Yeah !! i cant wait for this. FF 13 and 13-2 are great games. Im more hyped to see more news of this, than with Versus XIII news.

for gods sake SQUARE WHAT THE fuzz!!!!!!!!! oh god… how many FF 13s are they going to make!? FF 13-2 was ridiculous the story was so irrelevant to FF13… like seriously time travel? come on, the story already ended perfectly in FF13 why make a sequel!? they just dragged the entire storyline in FF13 down in FF13-2. And now a third installment, B—- PLEASE!?

I can’t wait! And I personally loved the ending, it was just so poetic and tragic and I feel it was something the story needed. It’s been a while since we’ve had true dark moments in FFs. Come on, in previous FFs main characters died all the time why is it so bad here? Oh yea cause it’s 13. Look more into the ending, and you’ll find it really is an emotional and spiritual one. It was just so artistic and edgy. I can’t wait to see what happens next!

The 25th anniversary consider 10-2, 13-2 as part 25th anniversary, while many people would consider only the mainline. Obviously threatrythm is game celebrate wonderful music throughout ff series and some sequel/spinoffs, they might include ff14 is relaunched. However I want SE include ff:tactics and ff10-2 music as well.
