Final Fantasy XIII heading to Xbox 360 in Japan

September 7th, 2010 by Sharjeel Hanif

Looks like the rumors were true, a leak of the upcoming issue of Japanese Dengeki Magazine confirms that Final Fantasy XIII is heading to the Xbox 360 in Japan.

The 360 version will release just in time for the holidays, December 16, 2010. Like the international release, it will contain English voice acting. One notable change however is the inclusion of an Easy Mode, although exact details of what this entails remain scarce at this time.

It remains to be seen why Square Enix would release the Xbox 360 version of this title so late in the game, with hype for Final Fantasy XIII clearing shortly after its international release. Even more so perplexling is their reasoning behind such a re-release – just how many units can they hope to sell on a platform that has never been healthy in the land of the rising sun?
