Easy Mode patch now available for JPN FFXIII

July 21st, 2011 by Tony Garsow

Previously available in the Ultimate Hits edition of Final Fantasy XIII in Japan, the Easy Mode patch will add the option of changing battle mode difficulty to an easier setting. Players will deal increased damage to enemies in a break state as well as an increased drop rate in component items that will allow players to strengthen their equipment earlier and more often. The patch is only available to those with the Japanese version of the game.

Now if only they had an increased item drop rate in the US version. Killing Adamantoises and Long Gui’s repeatedly for the same items that are required for a multitude of weapons and accessories get’s really old really fast. I totally get that previous Final Fantasy titles made getting cash easy, but in XIII it was flat out ridiculous. I preferred XII. At least late-game your pockets stop hurting so bad and getting the best weapons requires fighting more than one type of monster (albeit, you do spend a lot of time running between zones and killing weak monsters).

I want this for North America !! I need it for Long Gui’s and TReasure Hunter trophy.
