Final Fantasy XI: Seekers of Adoulin Out Today

March 26th, 2013 by Tony Garsow

Releasing on Windows PC and Xbox 360 today, Final Fantasy XI: Seekers of Adoulin is the fifth expansion to Square Enix’s decade-long MMORPG saga. Take to the wilds of Ulbuka as a Geomancer or Rune Fencer, two brand-new jobs. Colonize Ulbuka by setting out from Adoulin to take on the various reive challenges to further your fellow pioneers’ progress.

Service for the expansion pack is scheduled to begin on the evening of March 27th, 2013 Pacific Time.

For those of you looking to buy the Final Fantasy XI Ultimate Collection -Seekers Edition- on Steam, which includes Seekers of Adoulin, the team updated the official site to say that it may not be available right away at launch. They are working quickly to bring the collection to Steam for fans to purchase as soon as possible. For developments, I recommend following the game’s official English twitter here.

As someone chomping at the bit to play SOME form of FF MMO, I’m really disappointed that, for all I can find on the Internet, it seems that the rumored “new player friendly” initiative of SoA was scrapped. It’s clear that FFXI is simply maintaining for its established community, which is fine, while players “new and interested” like myself are meant to wait for FFXIV:ARR, which will be a more modern title with a more standardized access level for solo (which EVERYONE starts as) and grouped players alike.

I hope the FFXI community enjoy their expansion! :)

Just ordered the OST online for my collection. I’m personally really waiting for XIV: ARR tho….

I’m hearing a few people (on XI and in my linkshell =P) are having troubles with registering their copies of the expansion. Those that bought it from SE either failed to receive the registration code (via email) or the code they received was invalid. It seems SE is sending the codes through a middleman of some sort (If this is true, I have no idea why).

If you’re buying from SE you may want to consider moving your order to Amazon, as it is probably more reliable and you can always redownload when needed.
