Still More Surfing:
People of the Other North Pole

December 26th, 2011 by Tony Garsow

Another Christmas has come and gone, and while yours truly is concocting some sort of unholy mixture to kill this awful hangover, the show must go on at Final Fantasy Network.

One of the most frequent questions I’m mailed or asked is where and when that HD version of Final Fantasy X will show up. You might recall the announcement by Square Enix’s executive producer Shinji Hashimoto at Tokyo Game Show in September of this year.

Since then, the folks at Square Enix have been mum on when we can expect to see it. Information was a no-show at Jump Festa a few weeks ago, a likely venue to show off a new trailer. It’s more than likely we won’t hear more until 2012 has worn out its welcome. (I’m hoping soon, judging by all this silly end of the world talk.)

However, in the mean-time, we should enjoy a modicum of nostalgia to keep our appetites sated. The following video is a masterful piano arrangement/performance by YouTube user Gestriden, featuring the songs: “People of the North Pole”, and “Seymour Battle” from Final Fantasy X. Happy Holidays!
