Final Fantasy X HD Soundtrack Remastered

July 31st, 2013 by Tony Garsow

The newest issue of Jump has more details about Final Fantasy X|X-2 HD, and reveals that Final Fantasy X HD’s soundtrack has had about 60 songs remastered — about two-thirds of the score. Square Enix also rearranged the music of the first Kingdom Hearts game in Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD ReMix to include live lead instruments, and it appears Final Fantasy X will be getting the same treatment.

Composed by Nobuo Uematsu, Masashi Hamauzu, and Junya Nakano, the game’s soundtrack features nearly 100 songs. No word yet on Final Fantasy X-2 HD‘s OST, which was composed by Noriko Matsueda and Takahito Eguchi.

As expected, both games will also feature trophy support for the PlayStation Network and will include many challenges that will put both new and old players to the test. Let’s hope you haven’t gotten too rusty dodging lightning, playing blitzball, or racing chocobos.

A release date is expected to be announced soon, and Final Fantasy X|X-2 HD will be available on PlayStation 3 while the games will be sold separately on PlayStation Vita. You can pre-order the game now from participating retailers to get an exclusive art book.
