Final Fantasy VII Remake‘s producer, Yoshinori Kitase, spoke with Dengeki PlayStation for the latest issue. While information on Final Fantasy VII Remake‘s has been sparse and mostly vague since its initial announcement, Kitase confirmed that the main story voice recording for the first episode of the multi-series remake is nearly complete.

“A remake of Final Fantasy VII required substantial preparedness,” Kitase said to Dengeki PlayStation. “The voice actors have almost finished voice recording of the main story. Fans may have the image of the Cloud from Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children, but since this is the ‘prime’ Cloud from before Advent Children, the performance may feel fresh.”

Final Fantasy VII Remake is currently in development and will be released on the PlayStation 4.
