While we’re just about to get into the swing of Tokyo Game Show, I thought I’d bring up an old video from the Tokyo Game Show 2003. Today also marks the 6th anniversary of Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children‘s release in Japan and the 8th anniversary of the announcement. What are your feelings looking back on the project after all this time? How did you react when you first saw this footage? Leave a comment below!

First time I saw AC footage was with a trailer that had almost all of this footage with the Main Theme from the Piano Collections as the soundtrack.
It blew my mind away and it was what made me look at FFVII, which I hadn’t played at the time.
This was what I first saw:

I actually just beat FF7 the other day for the first time, and then I bought advent children complete blu ray a few days later. I had seen it before, but I couldn’t grasp the story since I had never beaten the game.
Dam though, that game has so much continuity. Took me three days to actually beat the last form of Sephiroth too.
I can see why FF7 is an RPG legend now though =], hopefully someday an FF7 remake? XD
I’ve yet to watch the movie in english, I’ve got the complete version downloaded to my PS3 in Japanese wih no subtitles. I have to say I was dissapointed that all but 3 of VII’ party members only make a cameo appearence, yet this new kid Denzel gets the spotlight!? Only thing the movie was good for were the action sequences & giving the Dissidia develors something to base Sephiroths attacks on since the guy never really did any fighting in the main game.
When I first saw this I was super excited even though they show so little of anything. I bought the complete version on blu ray and I gotta say that one is much better then the one I saw first. Too bad the characters don’t make as much as an appearance as I would’ve liked. That’s why my favorite scenes of the movie were towards the end when everyone gather and fought that big guy.
@Von
Eh…not really.
Sephiroth’s moves as seen in Dissidia actually came from Kingdom Hearts.
my first reaction to finidng out about FF7AC
“Oh … another FF7 spin off … not interested …”
*goes back to playing my copy of KH2*
“Yay, Disney Makes Everything Better!”
@Ixbran
KH2 wasn’t out yet, and AC was only the second title to be released as part of the Compilation so why the tone as if it was yet “another spin-off”?
@Ixbran
Wait..FF7AC a spin off? Thas a direct sequel right thur..
The only spin-off FF7 title would have to be Durge of Cerburus. Which I don’t think was even out yet.
@Aluminah: I just remember being disappointed and going back to play the current KH Game i had at he time. KH2 was the title name that popped into my head when remember the event so that’s what i Put.
: P
I was super pumped, but disappointed at the initial Tifalessness. Once the movie itself was finally released, I wasn’t disappointed until subsequent reviewing; Complete was definitely an improvement in most ways. The entire project, from inception to promotion to final release was successful as fan-service, but very little else IMO.
Haha’
Right as i said ;D
I think we all would love a remake of VII
But SE may be afraid of ruin it trying to make it
easier for newcomers.
I feel like this Topic has something to do about what i said
in the music style ff topic =)
My reaction “O WTF A FFVII MOVIE gotta fkkin see it!!” yeah I beat ffvii like two years ago at job corps and I’ve played it years before then to and I could never understand how the hell to defeat Sephiroth. FFVII complete was just bad ass. The first one was alright. And if any of yu have seen the actual japanese version of FFVII yu’d like it.
Ik it explained that Denzel was an orphan runaway or something like that in complete but just really who is he?? T.T they neglected to show barrett most of the time same with Sid… my two main favs..
It was like, siht. The game I love, i was just speechless now. just simply amazing, finalfantasy.net
I feel like I’m at TGS and i can hear people shouting and screaming. It’s always amazing feeling every time there are new trailer.
This is an awesome movie.Funny I was just watching it earlier today and it’s stll fantastic.I remember waiting for what seemed like forever for it to be released.It was worth it.
