Final Fantasy VI on NA PSN this week

September 18th, 2011 by Tony Garsow

Sometime this week (most likely Tuesday) Final Fantasy VI and Chrono Trigger will be available on the North American PlayStation Store. The titles will be the PlayStation iterations of the original SNES games, complete with the cinematics that accompanied them. Final Fantasy V and VI were both released as Final Fantasy Anthology for the PlayStation on September 20th, 1999. Each game is $5.99.

Update: Sony has clarified per Twitter that these two titles are not coming to PSN this week.

I can hear the excited cheers of FF nostalgia fans already. Hell, I might even buy it. Ahh, who am I kidding. At 5.99, its a steal; I’m definitely making this purchase.

Crap! I was getting excited, too. Oh well, when in doubt, take Squall’s advice.

You don’t need to get your hopes up, these games have been out for over 15 years, surely you shouldn’t have to rely on the PSN to get them.
Surprised there not the usual $9.99 tho. Maybe SE is ALWAYS a money grubbing whore, just MOST of the time.

Can anyone tell me if the psp ports of previous PS games have the same loadings? Like, I own FF6 for PS, but the loading times were so annoying that I eventually only played and completed it on the game boy advance port. Though I wouldn’t mind purchasing it if those flaws were fixed. everything looks better in the PSP 😀

@AgitoXIII If you wanna see a company that is truly money grubbing whore, look at Capcom, they release who knows how many Street Fighter game just basically because of one or two new playable characters, and extra stuff. Making you buying it the first time not worth it anymore.
