Famitsu reports tonight that Final Fantasy V is headed to the Japanese PlayStation Network’s Game Archives this spring. The Super Nintendo version was previously released on Nintendo’s Virtual Console in January, and PSN will be getting the PlayStation version. More information will become available later throughout the spring via Square-Enix, and Famitsu provided two screenshots from the upcoming re-release.

On Wednesday, April 6th, Japanese PSN users will be able to buy the game for approximately 1200 yen or roughly $14 USD. It should be noted that Final Fantasy V did release on the PlayStation in October of 1999 in the North America (PAL territories in 2002) as part of “Final Fantasy Anthology” where it was bundled with Final Fantasy VI.
