Final Fantasy Type-0 demo in the works

August 2nd, 2011 by Tony Garsow

Entitled “Natsubi”, an official demo for Final Fantasy Type-0 will be available this year in Japan prior to the October 13th release. It will be free of charge and tailored to “home play” (no multiplayer I would infer?), but it wasn’t clear if this will be available through the PlayStation Network or UMD format. The game will be distributed through the PlayStation Network, which means that fans abroad with Japanese PlayStation Network accounts will be able to try the game since PSP is region-free. This comes from the newest issue of Famitsu, where we’re expecting more information about the game shortly.

Type-0: The demo version which was available to play in Odaiba, Tokyo entitled ‘Natsubi’ is scheduled to be distributed for free, the date is still to be confirmed.

For those people who were unable to make it to Odaiba to play ‘Natsubi’, preparations are being made to distribute it electronically for free. We are making adjustments to get the demo ready for “home play”.

The Odaiba demo version will be refined for the distribution. It will include a compilation of missions. “Escape from the Empire” is normal difficulty, “Battle of Judekka” is hard difficulty, “The Assault on Big Bridge” is very hard difficulty and finally “Breaking Through Enemy Lines” is insane difficulty. There will also be a user manual which will also include information on each character’s unique techniques among other things.

The next issue will reveal a Type-0 competition with prizes.

Thanks: Ben

Yeah can’t wait for that demo! Glad it’s free.

  • Aluminah

How are you excited about this? Can you guys read kanji?

  • Blaster

@Aluminah: i’ve been wondering that myself. i’d be soo jealous if they can.

  • lalik

    Can’t say I’m fluent but I’m so-so.

  • Ben

I wouldn’t be able to translate Japanese if I couldn’t read kanji 😉

  • Aluminah

    Yeah, it’s a good thing to know…eheh.

    Really? That’s interesting.

You’re “tone” implies you are one of translators for stuff like magazine scans and whatnot, I didn’t know that but it didn’t make a difference cuz you sorta don’t count…lol. The question was directed to the people that read these news and demonstrate great interest in playing the demo.
