Theatrhythm teaser website goes online

December 10th, 2012 by Tony Garsow

Square Enix has gone live with a new Theatrhythm: Final Fantasy-styled website ahead of this year’s Jump Festa. The website features the chimes and swipes heard so often in the 3DS game, minus any music set to it. While it retains the same look of the original game, it may not be too farfetched to guess a port is incoming. Released back in July of this year, Theatrhythm: Final Fantasy featured the music of the series and designs by Monster Octopus — also working on Final Fantasy Airborne Brigade.

You can visit the official site by clicking here.

How about it? Can you guess what song we could be hearing here? Do you think this could be a port or a new Theatrhythm-based game about another Square Enix franchise? Leave us a comment below!

    I don’t think we’ll see a kingdom hearts-focused theatrythm, although I would like to see them span across all of their franchises, from the final fantasy’s both obscure and not obsecure, to their other games like dragon quest, chrono trigger and chrono cross, Persona, the last remnant, Musashi legendary samurai, and Fullmetal Alchemist (legal issues for this one, I know, but being able to play one of the intros with the teatrythm style, field specifically, would really work [I’m mainly thinking of the “Ready Steady” opening]). The focus would have to be at least three-five best songs from each game, or one in some cases (like in the case of fullmetal alchemist where it’s a bonus track that can be unlocked) from a span of 15 games (Because the original theatrythm had 3 from 13 games, plus bonus songs from the 13 and from games that haven’t been released yet like XIII versus and type-0). If possible, they need it to have better multiplayer and not the one in the original. Also if possible, they could get fan remixes that can be submitted by the fans and the best three will be playable in the game. {This can stem from any Square-Enix game they still have the IP for}

    But, yea, most likely this will be a port to the Iphone or PSP Vita, though personally I don’t see that working well. If any of the above could happen, that would be amazing, especially if they released on both 3DS and WiiU, supporting cross-play like Nintendo has been trying to develop for.
