Final Fantasy Battles Relived in Record Keeper

July 17th, 2014 by Tony Garsow

Square Enix has launched a website for Final Fantasy Record Keeper, a brand-new social game for smartphones. In this game that brings many of the numbered Final Fantasy titles together, players will assume the role of Deci, the most apt pupil in the kingdom’s history department. Under the tutelage of Dr. Mog and the assistance of Cid, Deci ventures into the history of the Final Fantasy series to take part in decisive battles, with each world representing a game.

By completing challenges in these worlds you’ll be able to unlock characters to use in battle, regardless of the game they originate from. Each character has been given a 16-bit era “make-over”. You’ll also be able to collect equipment and abilities to strengthen the characters you acquire, and we speculate it will be similar to many other games of its like in which fusing “drops” together will level them up to greater power. Per the website, all numbered titles sans Final Fantasy XI and Final Fantasy XIV represent.

Pre-registration begins today in Japan.
