FFVI Comes to Android Tomorrow

January 14th, 2014 by Tony Garsow

Final Fantasy VI for Android will make its overseas debut tomorrow evening (that’s Wednesday) in Europe. Square Enix revealed the particulars today including some brand-new images. Available for £10.99/€14.99, the mobile version of the game includes remastered visuals and an interface more suited to mobile phones and tablets. The game will also come to iOS devices, but according to a recent tweet by Square Enix Europe, no news about its status is available.

A North American release date has not yet been revealed, but we expect an announcement to be coming soon. Langauge options will include English, French, Italian, German, and Spanish.

Update: Final Fantasy VI for Android is now available on the North American Google Play store for $15.99.

This is great news and definitely will pick this up when it comes to the U.S. I can never play this game enough just like Chrono Trigger.

Glad someone’s being positive. The people commenting on Nova Crystallis are being most uncharitable about it. It may be a port, but mobile gaming is growing more popular and mainstream. Heck, Square Enix have an original game on the way for the platform that might well come west… and bring a certain long-called-for title with it.. 😉

Oh I am always positive when it comes to releasing VI! I have the original SNES copy, a reproduction, the GBA version, the final fantasy anthology version, and I also have a digital version on my PS3.

    the UI is hideous though

At last! You know, I heard that many people are hating Square-Enix because of this remake because it will be “plastic”. Hell with you guys! If this remake will be super popular, I think that Square-Enix will make a new remake (or new side story?) for ps vita or psp. VI is my best. I love the story, characters and I am happy that 5 years of waiting was not in vain!
