Celebrating 25 Years of Final Fantasy:
Unofficial Celebration e-Magazine

January 3rd, 2013 by Tony Garsow

Our friends at UFFSite, RPG Site, and Nova Crystallis have been up to a little something-something from the 25th Anniversary for the Final Fantasy series. To commemorate those 25 years, fansites from around the community (including us at Final Fantasy Network) contributed to an e-magazine that takes a look at the series from our perspective. It’s a celebration of the series, its creators, and the memories made over its long lifespan.

The 129-page magazine provides a lot of insight into the past, present, and future of Final Fantasy — and it’s absolutely free of charge!

Keep in mind that it’s quite a large file, so those of you browsing on mobile devices be forewarned. Click the links below to download the magazine based on your preferred format. Don’t forget to let us know your thoughts by leaving us a comment below!

Awesome, now how about that podcast?

  • Tony Garsow

Hehe, I still get asked about it routinely. It’s something I’d like to bring back for 2013, and I’m looking to put one together soon.

  • Very nice work on this,Remember alot of the history but this is nice indee. great work on this.

  • it’s amazing how EU got FF1 Late and sadly they dont have a NES version.

Warning to all FF Music fans: Stay the hell away from the FF Tribute album “Thanks”. It’s absolutely horrible except for like 2 or 3 tunes.

Oh man, this is a work of beauty. Nice to see you contribute to it too, Tony!

I really liked the magazine. Lots of interesting info from people who appreciated all the games and films. But the thing from SquallsDead seemed slightly ridiculous. I did some rough guessing with the cut-scene in question and an anatomy book, and the wound he received would not have been immediately fatal. Edna must have healed him so Seifer could interrogate him. We all have to remember that this is Final Fantasy.

My eyes hurt like hell after I finished 4/5 of the mag, but still wanted to continue reading. It was cool!

OK, first of all, great job guys! Seriously, you had me reading for 5 hours straight and I didn’t even realize it! And I never read anything!
Anyway, just a couple of things I would like to point out… First off, HQ FF on Nintendo consoles? NO! It’s bad enough that they take this long to make the games just for the PS3 and the XBOX, but can u imagine if they had to make them for the Wii U as well? We’d never get to play anything! Second, I’m really glad that I’m not the only one who that VIII felt kinda weird after the first CD. I mean, a sword passed by you, you’re scarred for life but a whole icicle passes right through you and nothing? What the hell? Anyway… Lastly, and I cannot stress this one out anymore than the folks at Square-Enix have done already, Versus XIII is for ps3 ONLY! Not for XBOX, not for Wii U, just the ps3! That’s it! Thanks guys for all the effort! You’ve given me amazing insight on my favorite series, I learned a lot of stuff, reminisced about the games I played and once again got excited about games I had forgotten about (like Versus… how sad that we would just forget about it.)! Keep up the good work!!!
