XIII series composers back for Lightning Returns

December 8th, 2012 by Tony Garsow

Masashi Hamauzu, Naoshi Mizuta, and Mitsuto Suzuki are the triumvirate of composers that have been the musical soul of the Final Fantasy XIII series thusfar, so it’s no surprise to see them return for the final entry into the trilogy. At tonight’s Final Fantasy 25th Anniversary concert in Chicago, posters featuring Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII were given out. Our friend Erren Van Duine at Nova Crystallis discovered the composers were listed by name at the bottom, similar to a movie poster.

You can view that poster by clicking here.

Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII’s next appearance will be at Jump Festa on December 22nd-23rd.

Don’t like the idea how FFXIII had to have THREE installments to get the tale over with, but I must say I’m looking forward to how these guys will rearrange Blinded by Light again XD.

On that note, has anyone every heard the word “Triumvirate”?? Holy hell…

Glad I didn’t get my hopes up over this game. I found the music for XIII very hit-or-miss. Loved some tracks, hated others.
If they avoid anything like “Will to Fight” from the 5th Ark, I’ll be glad.

^Hamauzu was one of the best at SE so, very much looking forward to it!

^ I totally agree with you! Hamauzu is one of my favourite composers. I loved both XIII and XIII-2 Soundtracks. So I am very much looking forward to the music in Lightning Returns.

The music in FF13 was one of the highlights of the game. Looking forward to see what they doe with this.
