Itadaki Street: Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy 30th Anniversary – Release Date Announced

August 6th, 2017 by Peter

Itadaki Street: Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy 30th Anniversary’s release date has been announced for October 19, 2017 in Japan. The release date was made known through a set of videos released by Square Enix’s Japanese YouTube account.

If you don’t know what Itadaki Street is, it’s a long-running party video game franchise developed by Square Enix in 1991 from the concept of Dragon Quest‘s creator Yuji Horii’s idea of Monopoly. Gameplay functions similar to Monopoly but also features mini-games, banks, investments, and gambling. It has only been released internationally once as “Fortune Street” for the Nintendo Wii in 2011.

This new iteration of Itadaki Street will celebrate both the 30th anniversary of Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy.

The announcement trailer has two versions: the Final Fantasy “Main Theme”, and the Dragon Quest “Main Theme” which are both the same trailer, with the only difference of their represented theme song.

Announced characters include:

Kefka – Final Fantasy VI
Cloud –
Final Fantasy VII
Squall – Final Fantasy VIII
Zidane – Final Fantasy IX
Noctis – Final Fantasy XV

And various others from both Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest.
