So, why am I writing this guide on it? Who's it going to help? I really don't know. It's one of my favorite Final Fantasys though, and it's easy enough to FAQ, so why shouldn't I Faq it, ya know? I'm not great with introudctions, so let's jsut get to thw rest of the FAQ... _____________________ ________________________/ \________________________ ( \_______ 3. Story _______/ ) \ ======= \_____________________/ ======= / \___________________________________________________________________/ =================================================================== This world is divided into four main regions. In the center of the world, where they meet, lies Focus Tower. Focus Tower was the connection point, and was a symbol of unity. The world stayed in a peaceful condition, under this way of life, for many years. One day though, four powerful mosnters stormed Focus Tower. Each stole one of the coins, that held the key to a section of the world, closing off the areas from each other. When the monsters left, the world was in a state of chaos; weaker monsters were appearing in all sections of the world, and there were many quakes occuring. Benjamin (aka Hero) lived in a village near the Hill of Destiny. His village was destroyed by one of these Quakes, and he fled to the Hill of Destiny, following a mysteriosu cloaked man. This is where the game opens up. _____________________ ________________________/ \________________________ ( \_______ 4. Hero will follow a cloaked man, to the edge of a paltform. Press B to jump across, and the first platform will sink down. The cloaked figure will look to Focus Tower in the distance-, and tell the story of how the Focus Tower connects the four sections of the world and how monsters have closed them off, and are draining power from the crystals that guarded each section. As he talks, a monster will appear, and fight - Behemoth. O-------------------------------------O | Behemoth - 80HP | O--------------O-------------------------------------O----------------O | EXP: 84 | Battle Strategy: This fight isn't hard. You only have| | GP: 3 | one weapon, and no item or spells though. Keep | O--------------O choosing to attack, and he should die. Although, it | | Attack List | is possible to die, if he gets critical hits to much,| | =========== | you'll just start the battle over anyway, so don't | | Horn | worry about it. Horn is just a physical attack. | O--------------O------------------------------------------------------O After you defeat Behemoth, another Quake will start. The cloaked figure will tell you to meet him in Level Forest. Hero leaves, automatically, as a quake whipes Hill of Destiny off the map. You only have one destination on the map - Level Forest. So, enter the forest. ________________O=====================================O________________ (________________| Level Forest |________________) O=====================================O ================= Enemies - None Items - Tree Wither + Cure Potion(s) Boss - None ================= When you arrive, the cloaked man is waiting for you. Talk to him, and he wil ltell you to save the Crystal of Earth first, and then leave. This guy isn't very talkative, is he? Well, head north, until you see a man in a blue robe. If you talk to him you'll find out the stone is blocking his path. Jump over him, and push the stone, and he'l lthank you. He'll also give you a Tree Wither, and tell you to show it to a girl named Kaeli. Head left, and you can get 3 potions from the treasure chest. Head all the way to the right after getting the potion, and you'll leave Level Forest, and open the path to Foresta. ________________O=====================================O________________ (________________| Foresta |________________) O=====================================O ================= Enemies - None Items - Cure [Spell] + Cure Potion(s) Boss - None ================= When you enter Foresta, head into the first tree home on the left. There are two girls at the table in this house; The one on the left is Kaeli. Talk to her, and she'll see the Tree Wither, and volunteer to help you. Kaeli joins your party! In the back of Kaeli's house, there is a treasure chest with 3 potions in it. After you get it, leave the house. The house on the right side of town (the one on the bottom) also has a treasure chest with potions, if you'd like to get it. What you really need to pick up in this area, is the white magic spell, Cure. Head to the north end of the town, and cross the bridge. On the right, in the water, are two logs. Jump across them, to the back of a tree home. There's a door there, so walk into the house, and there will be a treasure chest with the Cure spell inside. Also, remember, if you use the bed on the left side of this house, your health will be restored. Remember this, as you're fighting monsters later. After you get the cure spell, exit the house, and leave Foresta. Once on the world map, you have to go back to Level Forest. With Kaeli's help, you'll be able to go deeper into the forest. ________________O=====================================O________________ (________________| Level Forest |________________) O=====================================O ================= Enemies - Brownie + Slime Items - Cure Potion(s) + Heal Potion(s) Boss - Minotaur ================= When you enter the forest with Kaeli in your party, she'll immediately cut down a tree with her axe, giving you access to more of the level. Take out the Brownie that was behind the tree she cut down, and make sure to grab thepotion that you got the last time you were here - Chests that look like this one restore when you leave the level - and you're good to go. If you take out the two slimes on the left, you'll clear a path to a Brownie, who is guarding a chest of potions. Take out the slime on the right, and you'll be able to advance forward. There's a glowing tree ahead. Don't approach it until you're at least level 2 - 2 is fine, 3 would be better - If you take out most of the enemies in the area, you'll be at level 3, so don't worry. Also, make sure to heal first, and possibly take out the Brownie and the Slime on the right, to reach a chest with 3 Heal Potions inside. When you are ready, approach the tree, and a Minotaur will poison Kaeli. Then, you'll enter combat! O-------------------------------------O | Minotaur - 240HP | O--------------O-------------------------------------O----------------O | EXP: 84 | Battle Strategy: If you have your partner on Manual, | | GP: 3 | make her attack each turn, unless Hero dies; In which| O--------------O case, she should use Life to revive him. Use a | | Attack List | similair tactic with Hero. Attack every turn, but use| | =========== | Cure if either Kaeli or Hero get low on health. His | | Axe | axe attack is just a physical attack, but his Scream | | Scream | ability will do damage, and also lower your defense. | | Roundhouse | Also, be prepared for his Roundhouse; It's also a | | | physical attack, but it lays heavier damage. Just | | | keep attacking, and he'll go down, though. If you | | | want to be cheap, use a Life Spell, to bring him | | | down in one hit. | O--------------O------------------------------------------------------O After the battle, Kaeli's mom will come, and take Kaeli home. Hero will volunteer to get the elixer to save Kaili - He's told it's in the Sand Temple that's a little north. Kaeli will give Hero her axe - You can cut trees down now! - and then, they'll leave. You can access a Brownie and a chest with a Heal Potion by cutting down trees on the south-west section of the map. You can also find a chest with a Potion inside it, by cutting down trees on the south-east. To move on though, take the north exit, past where you fought Minotaur. ________________O=====================================O________________ (________________| Battlefield |________________) O=====================================O ================= Enemies - Mad Plant + Poison Toad Reward - 54 EXP ================= North of Level Forest, right before Sand Temple, is the first battlefield. Like all future battelfields, it's optional. Fight 10 sets of monsters, and earn GP and EXP, and sometimes an item. That's how things work here! I don't recommend fighting here, until you get Tristam in your party (you'll get him in Sand Temple). ________________O=====================================O________________ (________________| Sand Temple |________________) O=====================================O ================= Enemies - None Items - None Boss - None ================= This area is real small. Walk through the door in the first room, into second room, and check the one treasure chest there. You'll find it's empty. Soon, Tristam will come in, and offer to seel you the elixer for 9000 GP - Of course, you can't afford that! (Even if you do have more than 9000 GP, he won't sell, despite what people say.) Hero and Tristam will strike a deal though. Tristam will accompany you through the Bone Dungeon, and he'll give you the Elixer afterwards. This is a good deal, isn't it? Well, it's how things are going to turn out. After Tristam joins the party, exit the sand temple. ________________O=====================================O________________ (________________| Battlefield |________________) O=====================================O ================= Enemies - Poison Toad + Basilisk + Mad Tree Reward - Charm ================= Before heading to the Bone Dungeon, you really should head left from sand Temple, and clear out a battlefield. When you win, you'll pick up a Charm. The charm is an armor, that will increase your defense, so it's good to have. When both battlefields you can reach so far, are cleaned out, head to the Bone Dungeon. ________________O=====================================O________________ (________________| Bone Dungeon |________________) O=====================================O ================= Enemies - Basilisk + Sandworm + Poison Toad + Roc + Skeleton + Gorgon + Minotaur Zombie Items - Ninja Star(s) + Cure Potion(s) + Seed(s) + Quake [Spell] + Sand Coin + Explosive(s) Boss - Flamerus Rex ================= In the beginning of this level, you have a few paths. You can just step onto the moving sand, to be pushed across the room, which is the easiest way, or you could choose to fight the monsters on either the left or right side, to go around the sand - if you do this, there's a chest with 10 Ninja Stars for Tristam, on both sides. In the other side, open the chest at the edge of the sand, to get 3 potions, and then go through the set of bones that make up a door. In the next room, jump across the rocks in the water, and go down the steps, into the water on the other side. On the left side of the water, there's another passage of bones. Go through them, and head up the stairs on the other side. Walk upward, towards the blocked door, and Tristam will blow it open with a bomb! He'll then offer to sell you 50 bombs for 30GP. Say "Sorry" and he'll cut the price to 15GP, where you have no choice but to pay - but that's god, you want those bombs! Before you head to the next room, backtrack a bit. Go into the water, and through the bones again. Climb up the stairs that are in the previous room, and walk up, toward the wall. There's aset of bones lying on the ground. Use a bomb to blow them up. There's a treasure chest containing a Steel Shield behind them, and it will boost your defense by 5 points! After getting it, continue, and go through the door Tristam blew open. The next room is loaded with enemies. You can fight them for the EXP if you'd like, but there are two main points of interest here. On the north east part of the room, you can blow apart a blocked door. A Roc, and a chest of Ninja Stars is behind it. The other, would be stairs to the next floor. These are blocked by a Skeleton in the north-west section of the room. On the right side of the next room, is a chest full of bombs, blocked by a Gorgon. If you are out of bombs, which is unlikely, you need to pick them up. Head north, and there is a single Skeleton, blocking a set of bones. Defeat the skeleton, and place the bombs, by the two rib bones(?) that you have access to. The whole set of bones will shatter! If you walk all the wya to the right, into the wall, you can enter a hidden room. Jump across the rocks here, to find a chest with 10 ninja stars inside it. On the tight side, out of the mouth of the bones, is a Gorgon, and a Skeleton. If you defeat one, or both of them, you can access another chest with 10 Ninja Stars inside. Afterwards, head to the top of the screen. You'll find some moving sand pushing east, so you can't cross over it. Instead, go around the top of it, taking out the Skeleton, and the Gorgon, bombing the set of bones, when you reach them. After you take care of him, head south, using the stairs to reach the next room. There's a Skeleton blocking the way, as soon as you enter. Kill him, and move to the left. A Minotaur Zombie is blocking a treasure chest with 10 Ninja Stars in it. After picking up the items, head to the right, to the Skull coming out of the wall. Bomb its teeth, to open a path. Go straight, into the next room, where you can pick up 3 seeds. After, turn around, and come back, through the set of bones. Take a left, about half way through the bones, and you can enter, to another area of the room. There's more moving sand, so you'll have to battle the enemies to get around it - There are 2 Skeletons, and a Minotaur Zombie, that you have to worry about. On the other side, is another Skull with teeth to bomb. Head straight, down the bones, and into another room. A chest containing the Quake spell is here, and you'll want to pick it up! After getting it, leave the room, and fight the Minotaur Zomie thats on the right of the set of bones, you'll have one more set of teeth to bomb. Head into the next room, and make sure to heal, and cure any status ailiments, because you're about to fight a boss! Jump over the rock in the water, and you'll enter battle with Flamerus Rex! O-------------------------------------O | Flamerus Rex - 2,200 HP | O--------------O-------------------------------------O----------------O | EXP: 120 | Battle Strategy: There's only one of him, so bombs | | GP: 0 | will do a good amount of damage. Have Hero bomb him | O--------------O every turn - Or you could use Quake, which is better | | Attack List | until you run out of it. Use Tristam's Ninja Stars, | | =========== | using Life if either Tristam, or Hero need healing. | | Bone Missile | His Twin Fang and Bone Missle do decent damage on | | Rip Earth | you, but you should be more concerned about Rip Earth| | Sleep Powder | which does big damage to Hero and Tristam. So don't | | Twin Fang | let both of them get low on HP at the same time. If | | | he uses Sleep Powder, one character will fall asleep,| | | so make sure both are able to deal decent damage. | | | Once he falls on the ground, he's about to die. Just | | | hurt him a little more. He's immune to poison and | | | parylzing. | O--------------O------------------------------------------------------O After you beat Flamerus Rex, the Sun Crystal will be restored, and Tristam will show off a really cool weapon (that you'll get later in the game.) He'll then give you the elixer, and allow you to check the other chests, which contain Potions, bombs, and the Sand Coin, the key to a door in Focus Tower. Now, backtrack through the dungeon, and leave. You'll be doing this alone though, because Tristam takes off, at the exit of the room you fight Flamerus Rex in. When you are back on the world map, head back to Foresta. Kaeli still needs the elixer that you just got. ________________O=====================================O________________ (________________| Foresta |________________) O=====================================O ================= Enemies - None Items - Cure Potion(s) Boss - None ================= Enter Kaeli's house, and go into th back room. You'll give Kaeli the elixer, and she'll tell you to you that you should visit Aquaria. So, leav the house, and pick up some potions (they are in the same place as last time, and now that you have an axe, you can also cut down some trees in the south-east part of town to get some more. When your ready, leave Foresta, and go to Focus Tower. ________________O=====================================O________________ (________________| Battlefield |________________) O=====================================O ================= Enemies - Sand Worm + Minotaur Zombie Reward - 54 GP ================= To the right of Sand Temple, just before Focus Tower, is another battlefield. You should train here, and clean the place out, before you continue to focus tower. The only prize for clearing it out, is 54 GP, but the EXP is good, so I reccomend fighting. ________________O=====================================O________________ (________________| Focus Tower |________________) O=====================================O ================= Enemies - None Items - Fire [Spell] + Explosive(s) Boss - None ================= When you enter, walk forward, until you see a 1-square gap in the all on the left. You can walk under that spot, so do so, and then keep walking upward. You'll meet your friend that cloaked man again, and he'll tell you to look for a girl named Phoebe, to join you on your quest, and as always. He also states "Mac" will play an important role in your quest, and he leaves without explaining it further. There are some stairs, walk up them, to reach another floor. Check the treasure chest, to get some more bombs, and then open the open the door with the sword on it. Walk through the door, and forward, until you see more stairs. Go up them, and when you come out from another set of stairs, go left, and walk south. You'll see another treasure chest; This one has the Fire spell in it. After getting the spell, walk north again, and out the door on the top-most wall. ________________O=====================================O________________ (________________| Battlefield |________________) O=====================================O ================= Enemies - Mintmint Reward - 99 EXP ================= I don't reccomend fighting in this area, until after you visit Libra Temple, and you have Phoebe on your team. With two people in your party, this place will be a source of easy EXP. ________________O=====================================O________________ (________________| Libra Temple |________________) O=====================================O ================= Enemies - None Items - Explosive(s) Boss - None ================= Walk forward, and you'll see a strange crest on the ground. You can't do anything about that yet. Check the chest to get some bombs, and then talk to the girl standing behind it. You'll find out that Aquaria has been frozen! More importantly though, you'll find out that this girl is Phoebe! When Hero finds this out, he tells her, that he's going with her. And so, Phebe joins the party! You can leave the Libra Temple, after she joins. ________________O=====================================O________________ (________________| Battlefield |________________) O=====================================O ================= Enemies - Giant Toad + Mintmint Reward - 300 GP ================= There is another battlefield to the right of Libra Temple. This one may be slightly challenging if you have a low level, but the enemies here will pay some good EXP (for this stage of the game at least.) To top that off, you'll also win 300 GP! ________________O=====================================O________________ (________________| Battlefield |________________) O=====================================O ================= Enemies - Giant Toad + Scorpion + Mintmint Reward - Magic Ring ================= Yup, two in a row! This one is just right of the other one, and south of Aquaria. Before you enter this battlefield, make sure Phoebe and/or Hero have at least a few Black Magics left. You'll be facing a new type of enemy here, the Scorpion, and they are weak against Fire. Defeat 10 sets of enemies, and you'll be rewarded with a Magic Ring; An item that raises your defense by 3! ________________O=====================================O________________ (________________| Aquaria |________________) O=====================================O ================= Enemies - None Items - Heal Potion(s) + Refresher(s) + Steel Helm + Cure Potion(s) Boss - None ================= When you arrive in Aquaria, head all the way to the left, and into the first house you see. Phoebe will tell you her grandfather, Spencer, is trapped, and that you need to get Wakewater to melt the ice, and free him from the tunnel. To get that though, first you'll need the Libra Crest, which a monster in Wintry Cave stole. There is a chest with Heal Potions in the house, and there are some Refreshers in the house behind it, which you can reach by crossing the middle platform's bridges. There's also an Inn, where you can rest, to restore your health - for 95 GP. It's best to just go back to Foresta, and heal for free instead. Also, you'll want to pick up a Steel Helm for 200 GP, in the house in the north-west part of the town. When you're ready, leave Aquaria, and you'll be on your way to Wintry Cave. ________________O=====================================O________________ (________________| Battlefield |________________) O=====================================O ================= Enemies - Scorpion + Edgehog + Giant Toad Reward - 99 EXP ================= To the east of Aquaria is yet another Battlefield. This is probably the first one with some tough battles in it - That is, if you don't have any Black Magic left. Two out of the three enemies are both weak against Fire, so take advantage of that. This Battlefield doesn't have the best reward, but it shows you the kind of enemies you'll be facing in Wintry Cave. If you have any trouble, you should head back. and train some more, in the Bone Dungeon. Just north of the Battlefield is Wintry Cave. ________________O=====================================O________________ (________________| Wintry Cave |________________) O=====================================O ================= Enemies - Scorpion + Edgehog + Landworm + Centaur + Land Turtle + Sparna + Giant Toad Items - Explosive(s) + Heal Potion(s) + Arrow(s) + Cure Potion(s) + Refresher(s) Boss - None ================= When you enter, there is a Scorpion, and an edgehog, on the left, blocking a chest with exlosives in it. To progress into the cave, take out the scorpion on the right, and head in that direction. Keep going, until you reach soem stairs. Walk up them, and take out the Edgehog on top of them. A little farther to the left, is a Land Worm, defeat it, and head down the path it was blocking. The grtound will crumble, and hero will slip! Phoebe however, grabs on to the wall with her Cat Claw. After seeing this, she'll give you the Cat Claw, and switch her own weapon to the Bow and Arrows. Now you'll be able to climb up walls with the hand grips on them, as well as use it in battle. Just to the right of where you land, is a ledge you can climb. There's a chest of Heal Potions on top. Pick them up, and you have a chance to get some items. This next part is optional, but: Climb back up, head to the left, and fight a Centaur blocking the stairs, or go all the way down gain, head left, and fight a Scorpion. If you fight the Scorpion, climb the wall behind him, to reach the platform with the Centaur, except, behind the Centaur (so, you don't have to fight him.) There's a Land Worm, and a Centaur on the right, who block a chest with three potions inside. Head back to the left, and bomb the barricaded doorway, on the wall. Walk through, and take out the Land Worm in the next room, proceeding to battle your way across, to the treasure chests. One contains potions, and the other contains arrows. Now, back to the mandatory stuff. Leave the room, and climb the wall to the left, as far as you can, and drop onto another platform. Defeat the Edgehog here, as well as the land worm a little after him. If you keep going south, you can find a Centaur blocking a chest with a few Refreshers inside. Back near the top of the platform, on the left, is a Scorpion blocking climbable wall. Take him out, and begin scaling the wall. Move to the left, and drop down onto the floor again, where you should kill the Edgehog. Climb the wall left of the Edgehog, and fight a Scorpion on the platform above. Keep climbing, and take care of another Edgehog at the top. Bomb the rocks he was blocking, to reveal another door to go through. The next room has an array of enemies. If you fight to the right, from the entrance, you can get two chests, one with arrows, and one with potions. If you battle to the top of the area, you can turn right, to reach a new part of the room. In the bottom of this area, two chests, containing Arrows and Heal Potions. On the top, the stairs to the next, and final, room. You start under a sheet of ice in the next room. Fight the enemies, so you can reach the platform in the middle of the room (the chest contains arrows.) On the center platform, you'll find the boss of this area. O-------------------------------------O | Squidite - 2,500HP | O--------------O-------------------------------------O----------------O | EXP: 219 | Battle Strategy: Start off, by using Hero to take out| | GP: 6 | both of the Sparna he's with. Every turn, while she | O--------------O still has Wizard Magic, use Phoebe's Thunder magic. | | Attack List | attack. When t he Sparnas are gone, have Hero bomb | | =========== | him. Squidite can do over 200 damage in one attack, | | Blackness | sometimes, as well as blinod you, and lower your | | Choke Up | magic. Stick with the above strategy, and you'll be | | Electrapulse | fine, though. | O--------------O------------------------------------------------------O After you defeat Squidite, a chest will appear where he once stood. Inside, is the Libra Crest! Take the crest, and you're ready to leave Wintry Cave. Retrace your steps, to the exit. Before you continue, though, you might want to do a little more training, on the Battlefield to the west of Wintry Cave. ________________O=====================================O________________ (________________| Battlefield |________________) O=====================================O ================= Enemies - Desert Hag Reward - 600 GP ================= This Battlefield contains only one type of enemy, but it's one you haven't faced yet, the Desert Hag. Watch out for their counter attacks, and remember, they are weak against fire, if you need to use magic. By clearing out 10 battles, you'll win 600 GP! When you're done, head back to the Libra Temple. ________________O=====================================O________________ (________________| Libra Temple + Life Temple |________________) O=====================================O ================= Enemies - None Items - Arrow(s) + Cure Potion(s) Boss - None ================= Check the treasure chest, to pick up some arrows, then step onto the crest in the middle of the room. You'll be trasnported to the Life Temple (although, it's blocked form the rest of the world, take the southern exit, to see where you are on the map.) You'll find out that the Healing Spring has dried up! Head through the door on the top of the room, to meet - again - that cloaked man. Talk to him, and he'll give you that bag of what Wakewater is left, and then leave. Check the chest for 3 potions, and then step back on the crest, to transport back to Libra temple. Leave, and go back to Aquaria now. ________________O=====================================O________________ (________________| Aquaria |________________) O=====================================O ================= Enemies - None Items - Heal Potion(s) + Refresher(s) + Cure Potion(s) + Explosive(s) Boss - None ================= When you enter the area, you'll automatically move to the center platform, and use the Wakewater on a leaf. The leaf will revive, but the town stays frozen. It looks like you have to head to the Ice Pyramid now. First stop on this trip: Falls Basin, just north of Aquaria! And remember, all items are in the same locations as the last time you visited the town. ________________O=====================================O________________ (________________| Falls Basin |________________) O=====================================O ================= Enemies - Desert Hag + Lamia Items - Explosive(s) + Blizzard [Spell] Boss - Snow Crab ================= Start, by pushing the ice block in front of you 9 sapces north, and then left, until it reachs a wall. Push it one more space north, and then walk around it, and through a door, in the wall of ice. Take out the Desert Hag, and walk up the stairs he was blocking, and out the door on the other side. Jump onto the ice block you just pushed, and onto a nother platform on the other side. Begin moving downward, until you reach the botom, at which point, you should move right, and defeat the Lamia, to reach the second ice block. Move it 4 spaces to the east, then push it up one space, so that it's between the two platforms. Turn around, and go back up the stairs you were just at. From here, move to the right side of the paltform, and jump across the ice block, to the next platform. Take the stairs down, and defeat the Lamia, and push the second block in this sequence: 3 West, 1 North, 2 Left, 6 North, 10 Right. Now, push the the block you pushed before this one (the one between the two platforms on the bottom of the screen) below this one. Finally, go back to the very first block, and move it in this sequence: 1 East, 1 South, 8 East, 1 North, 3 East, 1 North. Head back to the stairs, on the platform in the lower right hand corner of the area, and jump across the first two ice blocks, taking out the Desert Hag. Continue going forward, and go through the door in the ice wall. There's a chest containing some bombs, and a Lamia for you to fight. Leave the room, through the second door, and jump across the ice block, to the next platform. Go around the Snow Crab, and get the Heal Spell from the chest, and then go back to fight the crab. O-------------------------------------O | Snow Crab - HP 3,000 | O--------------O-------------------------------------O----------------O | EXP: 234 | Battle Strategy: Snow Crab has two desert hags with | | GP: 3 | him, when you fight. Have Hero use his bombs on all | O--------------O of them, while Phoebe uses Thunder, on Snow Crab | | Attack List | alone. If Phoebe runs out of magic, and have no seeds| | =========== | use her arrows. Make sure to heal, when you're low | | Full Nelson | on HP, because this guy's attacks do over 200 damage | | Giant Blade | and Tornado can do around 600 (usually less)! If he | | Icy Foam | confuses you, heal it. You don't want to lose control| | Stare | in this battle. Keep doing damage, and using Hero to | | Tornado | heal whenever sufficient damage is done to your team,| | | and you'll come out of the fight victorious. | O--------------O------------------------------------------------------O After you defeat the Snoe Crab, Phoebe will give you another item. The Jumbo Bombs! These are really poweful, so why wasn't she using them in place of those arrows...? Well, it doesn't matter. You can use them now! Head out the door above, and you'll be on your way to the Ice Pyramid ( Or the Battlefield that's in front of it.) ________________O=====================================O________________ (________________| Battlefield |________________) O=====================================O ================= Enemies - Lamia + Mage + Desert Hag Reward - 540 EXP ================= This battlefield gives you an oppurtunity to test out your new Jumbo Bombs, which are pretty strong. The prize is a slight boost in EXP, but add it to the amount of EXP you gained fighting in the battles, and it may be worth it. When you're done, heal, and continue north, to the Ice Pyramid. ________________O=====================================O________________ (________________| Ice Pyramid |________________) O=====================================O ================= Enemies - Desert Hag + Lamia + Mage + Phanquid + Sphinx + Stoney Roost + Gather + Freezer Crab Items - Magic Mirror + Explosive(s) + Arrow(s) + Refresher(s) + Heal Potion(s) + Noble Armor + Knight Sword + Cure Potion(s) + River Coin Boss - Ice Golem ================= When you first enter, the path will be blocked by walls. Check the statue on the right, and Phoebe will tell you she sees a switch. Stab the statue with your sword, and the door will open. Now, something important about what's ahead: the monsters are invisible. What can you do about this? Well, you need the Magic Mirror, if you want to see them. Go through the open door, and to the right. Head down to the wall, and begin moving right again, as far as you can, and go north. Take the path farthest to the right; You'll fight a few enemies you can't see yet, but near the wll, at the end of the path is the Magic Mirror. Now you can see the enemies! Heads back left. Take the path just left of the one you were on, to find a Desert Hag, and a chest of bombs. Get the bombs, and go back to the entrance of the pyramid. This time, head left, and head south from where you see a Desert Hag. There are two chests, one with Refreshers, and one with arrows here. Go to where the treasure chests are, and head north, from the path on the right. Fight the Desert Hag, and the Mage along this path, to reach a flight of stairs. Fight the Phanquid in the next room, to reach a chest full of Heal Potions. Head back down the stairs, when you're done, and backtrack to where you found the two chests before. Head north again, but this time take the path on the left. Follow it, and fight the Lamia at the end. There is a Desert Hag, and a Lamia on the right. Take the path with the Lamia, and you'll find a Mage blocking a set of stairs. There is a Lamia on the next floor, blocking a hidden door. Head through it, to reach a chest with arrows inside. Head back down the stairs after getting them, and take the path with the Desert Hag. Just after defeating the Desert Hag, take an immediate right, and fight another Lamia. Head down the path, and around the turn, to find another Mage blocking a set of stairs. At the top, head around, behind where the stairs are, and stab the statue on the left. A door will open, and let you access a chest of arrows. After picking them up, take out the Lamia on the left side of the room, and head down the path she blocked. Just beyond her, is a Mage, and beyond him, a Phanquid blocking the next flight of stairs. Defeat him, and continue up. Head to your right, and defeat the first two enemies, and begin heading downard at the turn. You can defeat the Freezer Crab, to get a treasure chest with arrows in it on the left, and another Crab, to the south. Defeat the second crab, and get more arrows from the chest, then jump over the chest. Fight the Gather, and keep going along the path. Hit the statue with your sword at the end of the path, to open a door. Turn around, and go back to the stairs. This time head to your left, and fight your way past the array of enemies, to the bottom of the area. Enter the door, and fight the Stoeny Roost inside, and open the two chests, to get bombs and arrows. Come back out, and head farther to the right, and defeat the Stoney Roost. Just beyond him, is another door. Go through it, and take a left, to go underneath the platform. Go up the set of stairs here, to reach the next floor. Take a left from the start, and kill the Mage. Keep moving around, until you reach a Sphinx. Defeat it, and take the next flight of stairs as well. On the next floor, walk one step ahead, to fall down, into the blocked section of this floor. You can fight, and get the chests, which contain Heal Potions, Arrows, Refreshers, and Potions, as well as the valuable, Noble Armor! It increases your defense by 12! Stab the statue on the right, to open a door on the left, to leave the isolated area. Move around, and head up to the next floor again, afterward. Defeat the Sphinx onb the right, and you can get two chests, each with 10 bombs inside. On the lef,t is a Stoney Roost. Defeat him, and move along the path, being careful not to fall. Once you reach the middle platform (by defeating the Gather) you can head to the top of the room to get more bombs, or on the left of the room (get there by jumping acorss the platforms) is a chest of cure potions. Move back to the middle platform, and blow up the center tile with a bomb. Jump down the hole, and continue falling down, until you reach the first floor. Stab one of the statues, to open the floor, and jump down again. You'll be completely surrounded by enemies, and chests. Defeat one of the enemies, to get out, and possibly more, for the EXP. The chests contain Arrows, Potions, Heal Potions, and most importantly, in the fancy chest, the Knight Sword! Talk to the Ice Golem on the platform above, and he'll say he is enjoying your little "game" and leave. So, head to the south-east corner of the room, and go under the ice. From below the ice, head to the door in the north-west part of the room. Defeat the Lamia, and head through the door. Fight your way to the wall, and climb it with the Cat Claw, until you reach another door at the top. Walk acorss the stairs, until you reach another door. You can hit the statue on the right, to reveal two chests, both contain arrows. Drop off the platform in the next room to reach them. At the top of the next room, after the winding path, is the Ice Golem. Prepare for battle! O-------------------------------------O | Ice Golem - 6,500HP | O--------------O-------------------------------------O----------------O | EXP: 246 | Battle Strategy: First of all, this guy, being made | | GP: 0 | of ice, is obviously going to be weak against fire. | O--------------O So, have Phoebe and Heero use Fire every turn - that | | Attack List | is when they aren't healing. When you run out of | | =========== | magic (and remember, Thunder works decently too) use | | Axe Bomber | their normal attacks. Bomb and Sword work about the | | Hypno Sleep | same for Hero. Watch out for his attacks, as almost | | Ice Block | all will do over 200 damage per turn - Snowstorm will| | Mega Punch | do that, as well as heal him. Keep healed, and you | | Snow Storm | should win; You'll know he's going down when he | | Stomp Stomp | begins to melt. Oh, and watch out for Stomp Stomp; | | | It does HUGE damage. | O--------------O------------------------------------------------------O When you beat him, you'll save the second crystal! Then, Pheobe will leave, to go back to Aquaria, and see if the ice melted. Get the River Coin from the treasure chest, and then, leave the Ice Pyramid - you'll notice the map has changed DRASTICALLY. ________________O=====================================O________________ (________________| Aquaria + Spencer's Place |________________) O=====================================O ================= Enemies - None Items - Heal Potion(s) + Refresher(s) + Cure Potion(s) + Venus Key + Explosive(s) Boss - None ================= Go back to Aquaria, and you'll find a town that seems completely different fdrom the Aquaria you know before! Take the stairs into the water, and move to the house on the bottom-left side of the screen. From the water, you can go underneath the house. Do so, to enter Spencer's Place. When you arrive in the cave-like area, take the ladder, up onto the ground platform. Head south, crossing bridges, and using stairs when necessary. It's a long way, but its a linear path, with no monsters. When you reach the bottom, head through to the bottom of the screen, and go to the second area of Spencer's Place. Head downward, and cross the bridge on the right. Talk to the old man, who happens to be Spencer. After some talking, he'll give you the Venus Key, and hint you to go to Focus Tower, and ultimately, to Fireburg. By the way, if you use the door, you can reach a chest of potions, and if you climb the wall with the Cat Claw, you can reach the world map, but Spencer's Place is still isolated. So, head back up to Aquaria. Stay at the inn maybe, pick up some items (again, as the same place as before.) By the way, you can buy bombs and potions in the Inn, though, you can get them for free at Libra Temple. Speaking of which, before you continue, there's a Battlefield just north of Libra Temple... ________________O=====================================O________________ (________________| Battlefield |________________) O=====================================O ================= Enemies - Phanquid + Sphinx Reward - Exit [Spell] ================= Even though you don't have a companion, you shouldn't have a problem beating these guys; You've seen them all before anyway. If you do have a problem, you can always go back to Foresta or Aquaria to rest anyway. Just use your Knight Sword on the enemies - Or use a Jumbo Bomb, if your Knight Sword isn't taking out the Phanquids. Your reward, is a new spell! Exit! ________________O=====================================O________________ (________________| Battlefield |________________) O=====================================O ================= Enemies - Freezer Crab + Gather Reward - 744 EXP ================= Left of the previous Battlefield, is another Battlefield. Bombs are good here, due to the Gather's weakness. Although, the Knight Swoord should also work. This time, the reward is a boost in EXP. The Wintry Temple is to the south, but you can't do anything at all in it yet. So, head past it, and into Focus Tower by another entrance. ________________O=====================================O________________ (________________| Focus Tower |________________) O=====================================O ================= Enemies - None Items - Explosive(s) + Venus Shield + Blizzard [Spell] + Cure Potion(s) Boss - None ================= When you enter, there's a flight of stairs in front of you. Head down them, to talk to that cloaked man again. He'll tell you to seek a person named Reuben in Fireburg, and then leave. You're growing used to his habbit of giving you only minimum information, though, aren't you? If you bomb the door on the left, you can walk through, and get the Venus Shield. Well, you can as long as you got the Venus Key... You did, didn't you? There's also a Blizzard Spell on the left side of the room, so get that as well. Now, about that statue... Move it, so that it's one space right of the metal/stone block, on the bottom wall. This is important, any other spot will not work. Now, leave Focuse Tower, and enter it again through the entrance near Libra Temple. Head down the first set of stairs, go around, and open the River Coin door; Continue ahead, through the next door. Head south, and if you moved the statue to the right spot, it should still be there. Use it to jump across to the other platform. Go left, and up, until you reach some stairs. Go through them, and check the treasure chest for some potions. When your exit the tower, through the door on the top wall. By the way, notice, on the world map, in this region, when you move, there's an earthquake. You'll find out why, a little later. ________________O=====================================O________________ (________________| Battlefield |________________) O=====================================O ================= Enemies - Jelly Reward - 900 GP ================= This battlefield contais some new types of enemy; Particularly, of the element of fire. This one contains only Jellys, so use bombs; Remember, enemies of the Slime family hate bombs. The reward this time, is a pile of GP. Head north, after clearing it out, to find another battlefield - one that holds an important item as a reward. ________________O=====================================O________________ (________________| Battlefield |________________) O=====================================O ================= Enemies - Jelly + String Rat Reward - Gemini Crest ================= This Battlefield contains more Jellys, as well as Sting Rats. If you keep a steady supply of black magic - or Jumbo Bombs, at least - you should be able to clear this place out. By doing so, you'll be rewarded with the Gemini Crest - another stone, to enable you to use warps with the Gemini symbol on them! In fact, in the building in the north-west section of Aquaria, there's a building with a Gemini Warp, leading to Fireburg! Although, you can access fireburg from here, anyway. ________________O=====================================O________________ (________________| Battlefield |________________) O=====================================O ================= Enemies - Plant Man Reward - 816 EXP ================= There's one more Battlefield between you and Fireburg now. It contains only Plant Mans, so if you use your Axe, and are level 18 or so, one hit should take them out. Hack away, until the Battlefield is cleaned out, and you'll get a reward of 816 EXP. Now, head west, to Fireburg. ________________O=====================================O________________ (________________| Fireburg |________________) O=====================================O ================= Enemies - None Items - Refresher(s) + Multi-Key + Mega Genade + Seed(s) + Explosive(s) + Battle Axe Boss - None ================= The first thing to do in this town, is to meet Reuben. Head north from where you enter, to find a Hotel. Neighboring it, on the left, is the house Reuben lives in. Go inside, and get some Refreshers from the chest, then talk to Reuben. He needs you to help him rescue his dad, so he joins you, on the condition that you'll help; Reuben joins the team! The next order of buisness, is to get Mega Grenades from a friend of Reuben's dad. One problem though - The guy has locked himself in the house. No probelm though. Enter the hotel, and walk to the back. Here, you'll meet up with Tristam again. He'll give you a Multi-Key, and say it should help you unlock the door of the guy's house. So, leave the hotel, and use Cat Claw, to climb down the wall, near the outside of the hotel, down to where a house is. This time, you'll be able to enter. He'll give you the Mega Grenades! These bombs are strong, plus, on the map, you can throw them! Now, you can leave the house, and exit the ' town on the left side, to gain access to the next areas. Oh, and before you go, back in the hotel again, there's a guy that sells seeds. Seeds are very valuable, as you should know by now, so stock up! You can also buy some explosives from a man outside the inn, but they are a bit expensive... Most importantly, however, is a house in the southern part of town. A lady in it, will sell you a Battle Axe for 500GP - It's very worth it! After getting it, you can head out, to a battlefield west of Fireburg. ________________O=====================================O________________ (________________| Battlefield |________________) O=====================================O ================= Enemies - Plant Man + Sting Rat + Flazzard Reward - 1200 GP ================= There's another battlefield to the west of Fireurg. This gives you a good chance to test out how Reuben fights. And remember, Plant Men are weak against axe attack - And Reuben's Morning Star counts as one. If you encounter any Flazzards, you'll probably want to use Blizzard. Clear them all out, and you'll be getting a healthy boost in GP. Head west, to fight one more Battlefield before reaching the Mine, afterwards. ________________O=====================================O________________ (________________| Battlefield |________________) O=====================================O ================= Enemies - Flazzard + Red Cap Reward - Thunder [Spell] ================= Again, you're going to be clearing out 10 rounds of monsters. As well as picking up a bit of EXP and GP in the process, you'll get a very good reward this time; Your first Wizard spell - Thunder! After you recieve Thunder, head north, to the Mine. ________________O=====================================O________________ (________________| Mine |________________) O=====================================O ================= Enemies - Zombie + Red Cap + Red Bone + Flazzard + Plant Man Items - Charm Claw + Explosive(s) + Heal Potion(s) Boss - Jinn ================= When you enter, the first thing you should do, is take the conveyor belt, heading upward. Fight the Red Bone at the top, and head right from there. If you bomb the door on this platform, you can enter a cave area. On the wall, opposite the side you enter, you can climb down to the left or right side of the cave. On both sides, are four enemies you can face to reach treasure chests. The chest on the right contains Heal Potions, and the one on the left contains Potions. After you get the contents, leave the cave. Take the conveyor belt on the right, to another platform. On the right, is a bucket+pully type mechanism. Ride it to the bottom. On your left, there will be two Red Bones guarding another blocked door. Defeat them and blow up the door. Once inside, fight your way around the right side of the rocks, to reach a room with a fancy treasure chest. Inside, is the upgrade to the Cat Claw, the Charm Claw! Take it, and leave the cave. Next, Take the conveyor belt going downward, and defeat the Zombie at the bottom. Keep moving south, until you reach another (and the final) optional cave; You'll know the door, as always, it's blocked by bombable rocks. Inside, defeat the Flazzard, and the Red Cap on the right, and move around the platform, to the wall. Climb to the floor, where you'll fight another Red Bone, than climb up to a second platform. Either climb over, or fight the Zombie there, to reach a chest full of bombs. Take them, and leave the cave; Now, you're after Jinn, the boss of the Mine! Climb up the wall, outside the cave, and take the conveyor platform that's moving left. You'll be brought back to the first platform. This time, drop down from the bucket-pulley, and take the downward-moving coneyor belt from there, fighting the Zombie at the bottom. From here, head right, onto another conveyor belt, again, taking out a Zombie. Farther right, is a platform you can climb up. Do so, and take the conveyor belt that's moving up, and fight - You guessed it! - A zombie. Move to to the top of the platform, and take yet another conveyor belt to the right. On the other side, take out the Red Bone, and get ready to fight Jinn, who's blocking the door on the next platform! O-------------------------------------O | Jinn - 6,000HP | O--------------O-------------------------------------O----------------O | EXP: 504 | Battle Strategy: Start this fight, by taking out | | GP: 15 | each red bone, who are fighting with him. When that's| O--------------O done, use Reuben to attack every turn. Hero should | | Attack List | use Thunder while it lasts, and Quake, when he's | | =========== | out of Wizard magic. In addition, use Hero to cure | | Beam | wheenver HP gets low - Below 250 or so. If Hero dies | | Dragon Cut | revive him immediately. All of Jinn's attacks can be | | Fire | dangerous, especially Flame Pillar which does big | | Flame Pillar | damage to both characters. When his mouth opens, he's| | Hypno-sleep | starting to lose HP. When he decreases in size, he's | | | almost dead. Keep hitting him, and he'll die soon. | O--------------O------------------------------------------------------O When he's defeated, exit the Mine through the door he was blocking. On the outside, check the four chests, to get bombs, Potions, and Heal Potions. Then, move to the right, to see Reuben's dad. Reuben will throw a Mega Grendade, and cause the huge boulder to roll away (causing you to see a short cutscene of the world map.) After he leaves, go back into the Mine. To get back to the entrance, defeat the Red Bone near the top of the paltform where you fought Jinn, and take the conveyor belt he was blocking. Defeat another Red Bone at the top, to access the conveyor belt that's moving left. On the next platform, take the belt moving down, and then climb up to a new platform from there. One more belt - The one moving left - will bring you back to the first platform. Exit the mine, and head back to Fireburg. ________________O=====================================O________________ (________________| Fireburg |________________) O=====================================O ================= Enemies - None Items - Refresher(s) + Seed(s) + Explosive(s) Boss - None ================= This time, you're here just to get some information, from Reuben's dad. By heading back to the house you found Reuben in, you'll find Reuben's father, lying down. If you talk to him, he'll tell you the Fire Crystal is in the Lava Dome. You'll be going there soon, but for now, you have another destination. On the worldmap, you should have noticed how the boulder you moved earlier made a bridge to a temple? That is known as "Sealed Temple". That's where you're going now. ________________O=====================================O________________ (________________| Sealed Temple + Wintry Temple |________________) O=====================================O ================= Enemies - None Items - Heal Potion(s) + Cure Potion(s) Boss - None ================= Inside, you'll meet that cloaked character again. This time, he's here just for fun - He'll ask for money for coffee and then just run away! Well fine, be like that, Mr. Cloaked man! After he leaves, get the Cure Potions, and Healing Potions from the treasure chests in the back of the room, then get on the Gemini warp pad, to be teleported to Wintry Temple. Once in Wintry temple, you can get more Cure Potions and Heal Potions from the chests, but nothing else. Just get back on the warp, to go to Sealed temple again, and leave. Head north, two spots from here, to find another Battlefield. You're going to do some training again! ________________O=====================================O________________ (________________| Battlefield |________________) O=====================================O ================= Enemies - Zombie + Ghost + Red Bone Reward - 1200 EXP ================= Again with the battlefields, huh? Yup. This time, you'll be facing off against Ghosts (a new type of creature), Zombies and Red Bones. It shouldn't be too difficult, but remember, Zombies and Ghosts can be fiven large damage by White Magic or Cure Potions, if you need an edge to help you. The reward is a boost in EXP - Not bad. When your finished, it's time to head east, to the Volcano. ________________O=====================================O________________ (________________| Volcano |________________) O=====================================O ================= Enemies - Ghost + Red Bone + Nitemare + Were Wolf Items - White [Spell] + Refrsher(s) + Cure Potion(s) + Heal Potion(s) + Explosive(s) Boss - Medusa ================= Start, by heading up the stairs on the right. At the top, there's a Ware Wolf guarding a door. Defeat him, and walk through the door, navigating to the left, until you come out through another door. Open the chest to recieve the powerful White, Wizard magic! Now, head back through the door, to the right, and come out where you originally entered. Now, if you defeat the ghost on the right, then move down, on the raised platform, fighting the Were Wolf and Red Bone, you can reach two chests, one with Hwal Potions, and one with Refrshers. If you head north, to another screen, via the stairs a Skeletons blocking, you can take a door to get some bombs. When you get them, come back down. Finally, before you move on, head back to where you entered. This time move left, until you pass some stairs. Defeat the enemies, to get a few cures. Now, the next area of the Volcano has thick gas, that will make the enemies invisible - Unless you have a mask, which you'll get in a little while, a few screens ahead from where you are now. Heads up the stairs, that are near where you just picked up the potion, and jump across to the next platform. Defeat the Red Bone, Ghost, and Nitemare, then head north, to the next screen. Head left, and down the steps, and go around throuhgh the door. Navigate to the right, until you come out in front of a chest. Get the Heal Potions, and head right, up more stairs, to another screen. Continue straight to get a chest with more bombs inside. After getting them, head left, and up more stairs, to another screen. Beat the ghost on your left, and move up the stairs, to defeat a Ware Wolf. Just beyond him, is the chest with the Mask inside. Now you'll be able to see enemies through the gas on the other screens of the volcano! Before heding back down, though, left of the stairs, is a Nitemare, who's blocking a chest of Cure Potions. After you get them, backtrack two areas, and navigate left, through the door again. From here, head up the stairs, and defeat the Nitemare, heading up more stairs, to the next screen. Defeat the Nitemare on your left, and head past where he was, and go through the cave, to the right. Kill the Ware Wolf, and head up another flight of stairs, where there's a ghost waiting for you at the top. Defeat the two enemies on the right, to reach a chest with 3 Cure Potions inside. After you get it, proceed up to the next platform. If you fight the Nitemare and the Ware Wolf on the left, you can reach a chest with Heal Potions. After picking them up, head for the top level of the volcano. Heal, and use a Seed to regain your magic, and get ready to fight Medusa, who's in the middle of the platform! O-------------------------------------O | Medusa - 5,000HP* | O--------------O-------------------------------------O----------------O | EXP: 510 | Battle Strategy: Make sure to start this fight, with | | GP: 15 | Hero having a full stock of Wizard Magic. Start by | O--------------O taking out the two Were Wolves seperately, then have | | Attack List | Reuben use his Morning Star on Medusa. Have him heal | | =========== | himself and Hero when needed - Don't stop using | | Para-snake | white with Hero. When Medusa is alone, it will do | | Poison Snake | 1,300+ damage (at level 22). Do this for several | | Screech Voice| turns, and she'll go down. Remember though, Hero is | | Snake Head | the one using white - Heal him if he gets confused | | | or paralyzed. | O--------------O------------------------------------------------------O * This is an estimate. It was believed to be 2,500, but that is false. After you beat Medusa - which isn't a terribly hard battle - move down the stairs she was blocking. You'll go back to the world map, but now you'll have access to a new part of the volcano - The Lava Dome! Heal or, perhap[s go back to Fireburg to rest, than move on to the Lave Dome, where the Fire Crystal resides. ________________O=====================================O________________ (________________| Lave Dome |________________) O=====================================O ================= Enemies - Hot Wings + Avizzard + Fangpire + Adamant Turtle + Ninja + Stheno + Salamand + Iflyte Items - Explosive(s) + Cure Potion(s) + Heal Potion(s) + Refresher(s) + Life [Spell] + Moon Helm + Sun Coin Boss - Dualhead Hydra ================= Start by heading right, and defeating the Hot Wings. Move down to the next platform, and defeat the Ninja. Head down another set of stairs, and enter the cave. Fight your way to the right, until you reach some platforms in the lava. Jump to them, and bomb the rock, and jump to the next platform - The one with a Stheno on it. Defeat the Stheno, and open the chest, to reveal the valuable Life Spell! There are a few random chests scattered here, but nothing else that's too important. When you're done, exit the cave from where you entered. You can also take the door on the left, and drop down (after defeating an Iflyte - Doing this brings you to a chest with 3 refreshers.) Head left, until you see a flight of stairs. Take them, and defeat the Ninja at the top. Keep going left, until you defeat another Ninja. Defeat him, and keep going (again) until you reach a cave door. Go inside, and head to the right. You can fight some of the monsters, but the goal is to get to the top of the room, and jump onto the platforms in the lava. From here, jump in front of the boulders on the platform on your left, bomb them, and jump over. Defeat the Stheno and head up the stairs. A few enemies later, and you'll have access to two chests - One with 3 Cure Potions, the other with the valuable Moon Helm armor! After getting them, either head back to where you entered the Lava Dome, or use an Exit Spell, and re-enter. Now, head to the left, and defeating the Hot Wings. Go into the cave it was blocking, and you'll see a Fangpire. After defeating him, jump across the stone steps in the lava, and fight the Adamant Turtle, to reach a treasure chest with some bombs inside. Take them, and then leave the cave. Head down the stairs, and go to the left. There's another cave that you should enter here. If you do some fighting, you can reach chests on the right; They contain Cure Potions, Heal Potions and Refreshers. If you head right from where the chests are, and go around the wall, you can reach some stairs to another area, blocked by an Avizzard. Defeat the Ninja, Fangpire, and Adamant Turtle and the Iflyte here to reach an exit. Defeat another Iflyte outside, and step on a switch, to open a door on another platform. Go back through the cave, and back out the door you entered from earlier. When you come out, drop off the ledge, to a platform below, and kill the Avizzard that's waiting for you. After that, head down the stairs, and go right, to the cave; Enter it. Ahead, is a treasure chest, that contains 3 potions, but fight your way around the left-hand side of the cave, and take out the Stheno near the end, and you'll be at a set of stairs, leading to another cave door. In the next room, move straight, as far as you can go, and head left. After defeating a Salamand, and a Stheno, you'll reach two treasure chests - One with Cure Potions, and one with Heal Potions. Take them, and go back to the beginning of the room. This time, take a left. Fight your way to the stairs, and you'll be able to get a few more chests, but more importantly, you'll reach a spot where you can jump to a platform on the right. Do that, and head north, and to the left, and the top, and exit through another door. You can fight, to reach 2 chests (Both contain Cure Potions) and then leave, through another door on the left. You can climb the wall, but there's just an empty room after the Ninja, so take the stairs on the left. Kill the Avizzard at the top, and enter the cave. From here, you have to head down two flights of stairs, and into the next room. This room is another room with treasure chests thrown around - You can seek them out, if you want. To actually reach the next exit though, defeat the Hot Wings, and head down the first flight of stairs. From here, go a bit left, and down to the bottom of the screen, where you can climb some stairs, and defeat the Salamand at the top. Jump to the platform on the right, defeat the Hot Wings, and go down the stairs, next. Afterwards, defeat the Hot Wings, and go up the next stairs, defeat the Ninja, and jump to the left. It's a linear path - with a Salamand on it - to the exit. From the outside, head through the large door, into a room with lots of lava. First, walk straight ahead, and defeat the Salamand. From here, you can jump across rocks, on both the left and right sides - A little out, both sides fork anyway. There are cure potions on the noth-west corner of the room, a Stheno and Cure Potions on the South-east, and the Dualhead Hydra in the top-middle - No it isn't an item, it's a boss! O-------------------------------------O | Dualhead Hydra- 14,000HP | O--------------O-------------------------------------O----------------O | EXP: 429 | Battle Strategy: First of all, make sure you have | | GP: 0 | the Moon Helm - Being strong against fire attacks is | O--------------O a must! That being said, the basic strategy for this | | Attack List | battle, should be to have Hero use White every turn, | | =========== | while Reuben uses his Morning Star, or heals when it | | Fire Breath | becomes necessary. Also, keep both characters alive | | Para-breath | and un-petrified at all times! A focused Fire Breath | | Poison Breath| can be very deadly. As one head falls off, and the | | Scrunch | other takes a different position, he is approaching | | Stone Gas | death. Keep attacking, until he's gone. Also, as a | | | note, if you run out of Seeds, have Reuben keep | | | attacking, while Hero does the healing. | O--------------O------------------------------------------------------O After the battle's over - Assuming you won of course - you'll save the Fire Crystal! You'll also see a lava flow do some changes on the world map, as well as here that you should head toward Windia next. Open the chest to get the Sun Coin, then either leave, or use exit. You should notice a new Battelfield. Of course, now you'll have to clear it out! ________________O=====================================O________________ (________________| Battlefield |________________) O=====================================O ================= Enemies - Stheno + Iflyte Reward - 1068 EXP ================= For whatever reason, this place has lots of "Unexpected Attacks". So don't enter, without at least some HP. You may want to use White, to help you take care of the battles a little quicker. Once you've cleared this place out, and you'll get a boost in EXP. Now, you're going back to Focus Tower! ________________O=====================================O________________ (________________| Focus Tower + Doom Castle |________________) O=====================================O ================= Enemies - Shadow Items - Aegis Shield Boss - ================= In Focus Tower, make your way to the set of colored doors. With the Sun Coin, you'll be able to open the third one (purple.) Open it, and you'll get to talk to that cloaked man again. He'll tell you to look out for Mac's ship as you go to Windia. With that, he'll leave, and you can take the stairs. Walk straight ahead in this area, and you'll reach another set of stairs. Go through, to enter Doom Castle - Well, only one room of it actually! Defeat the Minotar Zombie, and open the chest, to recieve the Aero spell. Now, you can leave the room. Head back to where you met the Cloaked Man just now, and walk around the stairs, on the right, through a door on the bottom of the screen. Welcome to the next region of the world; NExt stop: Rope Bridge! ________________O=====================================O________________ (________________| Rope Bridge |________________) O=====================================O ================= Enemies - Mummy Items - Cure Potion(s) + Seed(s) Boss - None ================= When you begin, attempt to walk across the bridge. A mummy will appear, and Reuben will try to play the role of a Hero, and defend you. He ends up being knocked off the bridge though, leaving you to fight alone - Not that the Mummy is strong. Defeat it, and Hero will automatically climb down, to see Reuben. He says he'll catch up later - and then who should come by, but Tristam. You're not alone anymore - hooray! Continue crossing the bridge - Make sure to climb down the second vine if you want some Cure Potions. You'll also want to climb down the fifth and final vine - There are 3 seeds at the bottom. Grab the seeds, then climb back up the vine, and exit the area from the right side. On the world map, head right, to Alive Forest. ________________O=====================================O________________ (________________| Alive Forest + Foresta |________________) O=====================================O ================= Enemies - Mummy + Specter Items - Cure Potion(s) + Heal Potion(s) + Ninja Star(s) + Refresher(s) + Giant's Axe Boss - None ================= If you cut some trees, just above wheree you start, you can reach a Mummy and a Specter. They're blocking a treasure chest which contains Cure Potions. After you get it - or decided not to - head to the bottom of the area, where you'll find a Mummy blocking a bridge. Defeat the Mummy, and cross the bridge. Also, note: There are crest symbols in this area that you don't have yet. Don't worry about them yet. On the other side of the bridge, there's a Specter for you to defeat. From here, head left and cut some trees down, to reach a chest with 3 Heal Potions inside. If you cut some trees heading downward, you'll see a Specter blocking a lone tree. Defeat him, and chop down the tree to reach a warp. Step on it, to enter a room with a chest of Refreshers (This is actually part of Foresta, though you can't leave the building.) After getting the cures, and the Refreshers, head back to the right - Again, clearing a path by cutting down trees. Defeat either the Specter or the Mummy (or both) at the edge of the set of trees, Talk to the tree with a face, and Tristam will say Kaeli should be able to get a response from him - She's in Aquaria. Before you leave, though, fight the Mummy on the right, and cut down the lone tree. Step on the warp underneath - you have a stone for this kind - to enter a room with a chest of Ninja Stars inside.A little north, there's a Specter guarding a chest of Refreshers. Now, you still have one thing left to get, before you leave. From where the large tree is, head left, and cut trees, heading south, until you reach another large tree - Though, this one isn't alive - with a fancy treasure chest near it. Cut your way around it, and kill the Specter and the Mummy, to reach a chest with the Giant's Axe in it. With your new weapon, head back to Aquaria. ________________O=====================================O________________ (________________| Aquaria + Spencer's Place |________________) O=====================================O ================= Enemies - None Items - Heal Potion(s) + Refresher(s) + Cure Potion(s) + Exlposive(s) Boss - None ================= Once in Aquaria, immediately head back to Spencers Place. Climb down the stairs and ladders, until you reach the place where you met Spencer, a little ways back. Talk to Spencer, and Tristam will leave you alone - Again. He will lgive you his Dragon Claw though, which is a great deal! Next, Phoebe comes, and uses a bomb, causing the tunnell to collapse! Head back up to Aquaria, and go inside Phoebe's house. Grab some Heal Potions from the chest, and talk to Kaeli, and she'll join you. Back to Alive Forest you go! ________________O=====================================O________________ (________________| Alive Forest + Giant Tree |________________) O=====================================O ================= Enemies - Mummy + Specter + Live Oak + Snipion + Leech + Ooze + Skuldier Items - Cure Potion(s) + Heal Potion(s) + Explosive(s) + Refresher(s) + Meteor [Spell] Boss - Gidrah ================= Head through the forst - remember, you can stop and pick up the same items as before - until you reach the large tree with a face. Talk to him, and He'll say you can pass if you defeat the monsters inside of him. You can enter through his mouth. Head straight from where you enter, and defeat either (or both) the Specter or the Mummy. A little farther ahead, is a Live Oak, guarding a chest of Refreshers. If you fight the enemies to the right from where you enter, you'll reach a chest with Cure Potions inside. After getting the items you want, head left from where you entered. Defeat the Mummy and the Live Oak. Farther on the left, a Live Oak and a Specter block two chests - One with Heal Potions, the other with Cure Potions. After picking them up, continue north, and to the right. Defeat a Live Oak to reach some climbable wall, and defeat another at the top. From there, use your Dragon Claw to grapple to the platform to the south. Grapple south again, then, go continue around the room, until you reach a platform with a door on it - Go through the door. On the next floor, start by heading to the right, and killing the Live Oak, that's blocking a treasure chest that contains heal potions. From where you get the heal potions, go south, defeating the Live Oak, the Snipion, and the Mad Toad. Walk through the door, into another room, and cut a path through the mushrooms to the left. Defeat another Mad Toad, and you'll reach a chest with bombs, and a chest with Cure Potions. Take them, and go back to the entrance of the room. Cut some 'shrooms going downward, and fight your way around the room, where you can leave through another door. Open the fancy chest to get the Meteor spell, than backtrack through the mushroom room. Head to the left side of the room, and grapple across the hole in the floor, then, defeat the Live Oak. Walk to the right, and defeat the Mad Toad, which is blocking a chest of Cure Potions, then, climb up the wall. Grapple to the platform on the left. Stab the door to open it, and walk through. Right of where you enter, is a chest of Heal Potions. Grab them, and climb down to the floor. Defeat the snipion and the Mad Toad on your left, to reach a chest of Cure Potions, and a chest of heal potions. Get the potions, then climb back up to where you entered. Defeat the Leech, and grapple to the platform on the left. Walk along this platform to the right, defeating the three Leeches, until you reach a door - Stab it, and walk through it. You'll be in another room with lots of mushrooms. In the room, there are two chests- one with Heal Potions, one with Cure Potions, but to reach the door, head North-west and climb the wall. Drop downa little to the left, and move south, defeating the two Leeches. In the next room, walk left, and fight the Mad Toad, to reach the pit. Climb down the vine, and defeat the Mad Toad to reach chest of Heal Potions. Then walk north, and through another door. Defeat the Mad Toad and the Leech from where you enter, and head north. Begin scaling the wall, heading to the right. When you reach a platform, to the right, at the top of the wall, defeat the Leech, and stab the door to open it. Walk through the opening to reach the fourth floor of the Giant Tree. When you enter the room, head south. Defeat the two Skuldiers, and the Ooze. You'll reach a wall with three doors on it. Go through the one in the middle, and hack your way through the mushrooms, going clockwise around the middle platform. When you reach it, climb up the wall, and kill another Ooze. Defeat a second Ooze on the left, to reach a chest of Heal Potions, then leave through the door. When you come out, walk around the top of the platform, defeating the enemies, until you reach a climbable wall. Climb it, and go through the door. Before you enter it though, you can walk around the door to the left, to get two more treasure chests. On the fifth floor, you'll be surrounded by Skeletons when you enter. In the south end of the room, there is a chest of Cure Potions, and a chest of Heal Potions. In the north-west corner, there's a chest of bombs, and a chest of Healing Potions. After you get these, heal up, and climb the wall at the top of the room, to reach the boss of this area. O-------------------------------------O | Gidrah - HP 13,000 | O--------------O-------------------------------------O----------------O | EXP: 729 | Battle Strategy: Start by having both Kaeli and Hero | | GP: 18 | use Aero, to take out the two Skuldiers that are | O--------------O with Gidrah. After they're gone have Hero use Aero, | | Attack List | as well as do the Healing/Curing. If he runs out of | | =========== | black magic, use White, it does about the same amount| | Para-gas | of damage as Aero does. Have Kaeli use Aero every | | Stone Gas | turn as well, only breaking the pattern if she has to| | Three Heads | revive Hero, or cure him from Petrification. When one| | Tornado | then two of the heads dissappear, he's getting low | | | on HP. Launch a few more spells at him, and he should| | | keel over soon. | O--------------O------------------------------------------------------O After you defeat the Gidrah, talk to the face that is behind where he was. You'll see a cutscene of the Tree actually walking across the world map, to a temple. Use Exit, or backtrack through the tree, to reach the world map, where you can now enter Kaidge Temple. ________________O=====================================O________________ (________________| Kaidge Temple |________________) O=====================================O ================= Enemies - None Items - Cure Potion(s) Boss - None ================= Climb up the wall inside the temple, and talk to the man with the cape again. He'll mention Captain Mac, and leave again. You can walk through the door, and navigate left, and upward, to reach a chest with some Cure Potions, but that's all you can do in here, for now. So, get the potions, and leave the Temple. There's a Battlefield for you to train at, to the east. That's where you should go next. ________________O=====================================O________________ (________________| Battlefield |________________) O=====================================O ================= Enemies - Ooze + Skuldier + Water Hag Reward - 2808 EXP ================= This battlefield isn't so bad. You'll be facing a new enemy though, the Water Hag. Use a mix of your Mega Grenades, and your Aero spell to clear out the battlefield. Remember, do not use spells on Oozes, they reflect it back at you. When you win, you'll get a boost in EXP. Now, you should head east to another Battlefield that you can train at, for some more EXP, before heading to Windia. ________________O=====================================O________________ (________________| Battlefield |________________) O=====================================O ================= Enemies - Water Hag + Vampire Reward - 2808 EXP ================= So now, you're up against Water Hags and vampires. Aero's effective against Vampires, but not the Water Hags. Just slash them up with your Giant's Axes. Using Meteor or White is also a good strategy if you have the Wizard Magic to spare (then again, you can always refresh in Windia anyway.) When you clear them out, you'll get another EXP boost. After it's cleared out, head north, to Windia. ________________O=====================================O________________ (________________| Windia |________________) O=====================================O ================= Enemies - None Items - Cupid Locket + Explosive(s) + Heal Potion(s) + Cure Potion(s) + Refresher(s) Boss - None ================= The first thing you should do when you enter Windia, is enter the house on the left. Talk to the Blue Haired girl, and she'll sell you a Cupid Locket for 300 GP - That's a good deal. If you want, you can also talk to the man in the house, to buy some Explosives. When you're done, exit the house, and head to the right, Enter the small house, on the right side of town, and inside, you can talk to Otto. He'll tell you, that his daughter is lost on the mountain - That will be where you head next. Before you go, though, rest up at the Inn. There's even some Refreshers Refreshers and Heal potions in the room when you wake up - Not bad. ________________O=====================================O________________ (________________| Windhole Temple |________________) O=====================================O ================= Enemies - None Items - Heal Potion(s) Boss - None ================= Heading south and east from Windia, you can reach Mount Gale - which is your next stop. Along the way though, is Windhole temple. The place is empty, except for one chest of Heal Potions in the center, but you may want them, none-the-less. After picking them up, leave, and head north to Mount Gale. ________________O=====================================O________________ (________________| Mount Gale |________________) O=====================================O ================= Enemies - Water Hag + Vampire + Skuldier Items - Heal Potion(s) + Refresher(s) + Apollo Helm Boss - Dullahan ================= When you enter, head right, past the first set of stairs. Keep going until you reach a second set. Head upward from here, and defeat the Vampire to reach a chest that contains Heal Potions. Head back down the stairs, and go east again, to a third set of stairs. Defeat the Water Hag at the top of them. From here, climb two more sets of Stairs, and kill the Skuldier. Keep heading north, and grapple when you reach the edge of the platform, then jump to another platform on the right. From here, head south, and kill another Water Hag, and go down more stairs. At the bottom, head right, and kill the Vampire blocking more stairs. If you head up to the right, you can grapple to another paltform, and defeat another Vampire to reach a chest of Refreshers. After getting them, grapple back to the left. From here, move south, until you go down more stairs, then head right, going up another flight of stairs, with a Skuldier on top. Defeat him, and cross the bridge to the left. Here, defeat the Water Hag, and head north. Grapple to the next platform, and defeat the Vampire to access a fancy chest with the Apollo Helm inside. Take it, and defeat the Water Hag. Jump to the platform on the left, and from here, grapple back to the first platform. Head to the middle platform, heal, and get ready to fight Dullahan, the boss of the area! O-------------------------------------O | Dullahan - 14,000HP | O--------------O-------------------------------------O----------------O | EXP: 750 | Battle Strategy: Time for another boss. On the first | | GP: 21 | round, have both Kaeli and Hero use Aero, to kill the| O--------------O Vampires off. Now it's just you and Dullahan. Have | | Attack List | Hero use Meteor ever turn, while Kaeli uses Aero. If | | =========== | Hero gets put to sleep, gets killed, or damaged alot,| | Doom Dance | have Kaeli heal him immediately, butonly have Hero | | Hypno-sleep | cure Kaeli if she gets killed. You'll need both | | Headdoomerang| characters at all time, in case he does Doom Dance - | | Rapier | an instant death move. In a few inutes, and a few | | Thunder Beam | Meteors later, his horse will fall. This means he's | | | losing HP. Keep hitting him with Meteor and Aero, and| | | he'll get off his horse completely. A few more spells| | | and the headless knight will fall. | O--------------O------------------------------------------------------O As it turns out, Dullahan didn't have the Wind Crystal or the girl. The area wasn't completely fruitless though - Now, you know that Pazuzu, an enemy you'll meet later does. So, use Exit or backtrack to the world map, and go back to Windia - You'll notice the wind isn't blowing so hard now. ________________O=====================================O________________ (________________| Windia |________________) O=====================================O ================= Enemies - None Items - Explosive(s) + Heal Potion(s) + Cure Potion(s) + Seed(s) Boss - None ================= When you arrive back in Windia, talk to Otto again. He'll start up the Rainbow Road, allowing you to access Pazuzu's Tower! Leave the house, and head north through town. Take the North Exit, to reach Pazuzu's Tower. Remember to stop at the Inn, and rest, as well as talking to the old lady outside, to buy some Seeds - Buy as many as you can, so you don't need to stock up later. ________________O=====================================O________________ (________________| Pazuzu's Tower |________________) O=====================================O ================= Enemies - Garuda + Beholder + Manticore + Chimera + Thanatos + Sorcerer + Naga Items - Explosive(s) + Flare [Spell] + Excalibur + Sky Coin Boss - Pazuzu ================= When you first enter, head up to the platform on the right, and talk to the little girl. She turns out to be Norma, and when you tak to her, she returns home. Don't leave yet though, you still need to get the Wind Crystal! After you rescue her, fight your way up, thorugh the center of the room, and talk to the large bird creature, who is actually Pazuza. He'll then run away. Go back to where you found Norma, and take the door on the right. Defeat the Beholder, and go up the stairs. When you enter the second floor, defeat the Garuda, and begin climbing the stairs in front of you. Defeat another on a platform between stairs, and keep going. At the top of the stairs, is another door. You're now at the third floor - Fast huh? Head to the left, until you meet a Beholder. From here, head south, and kill the Manticore. Move to the right from here, and defeat the Chimera. Go through the door on the right, and fight some more enemies, moving upward, into another room. Defeat one/some of the enemies, and take the Explosives from the chests. When you're done, leave the room, and head bac to the left, and go around the wall, to the door (You'll have to defeat a Chimera, Beholder, and a Manticor to get there.) You'll enter the fourth floor - which is a stairway like the second floor. Head to the top, killing some Beholders on the way. From here, go through the door to reach the fifth floor. Defeat the Gardua, and walk around the platform you enter on. Go through the door, and head up another flight of stairs. Guess what? The sixth floor is yet another set of stairs! Climb up them, defeating the Manticores, until you reach the seventh floor. Kill the Sorcerer on the left, and go left. Grapple to another platform a little north, and defeat the Thanatos. Go up the stairs, and defeat the Sorcerer and the Chimera. Keep fighting enemies, until you reach some stairs on the right. Go down them, and then go down some more stairs, to the 6th floor again. The first thing to do when you enter this area, is to defeat the Sorcerer, and head down the stairs. Then, defeat the Naga, and go through the door to the south. In the next room, grab some Cure Potions from the chest, and defeat the Naga, and the Sorcerer, to reach a fancy chest, which is on the left side of the room. Inside, is the final Wizard spell, Flare! Pick it up, and bomb open the wall on the right. Defeat the Naga on the other side, and then defeat the Sorcerer. Head forward, and talk to Pazuzu, who will flee again, then turn around, and hit the switch with your axe. Go back to where you bombed the door, and head left, and through the door near where you got the Flare spell. Kill the Naga, and the Sorcerer, and keep going, until you reach a set of stairs - Climb down them. Defeat the Thanatos, and move south. Kill the Sorcerer and the Garuda on your right, and head along the ledge they were on. At the end, jump to the platform on the right. Farhter to the right, you can head down some steps, and reach chests that contain Explosives and Heal Potions. Afterwards, go back upwards, and defeat the Thanatos, to reach another flight of stairs. Defeat the Gargolye near where you enter, and move south. On the right, after defeating some more monsters, is a door. Fight the Sorcerer, and head through it. Defeat a Chimera or two, and another Sorcerer, to get to anotherfancy chest.Open it, to get the incredibly strong Excalibur sword! Now, leave the room, and go through the door on the right. Here, there's a blocked door - You know the drill. Blow it open, and head forward, killing the Gargoyles, until you meet Pazuzu again. Grab the Cure and Heal Potions, and talk to him - He'll run away yet again. When he leaves, head south again, and go to the left, defeating the Sorcerer. From here, head north, kill the Chimera, and hit the switch. After you do that, head down the stairs near the switch, and head down the stairs, taking care of the Thanatoses on the way. In the next room, defeat the Naga and the Garegoyle, and go through the door to the south. Here, there's another bombed door, but don't worry about that that, just head past it, and go through the door. There's another door on the right - Go there for soem more Cure and Heal Potions, then heads up the path on the left of it, killing the monsters, and hit the switch. Now, head dowm, and take the stairs, back to the first floor. Just take s right, the same stairs you took to floor 2 earlier, and make your way back to floor 5 - you shouldn't have to fight anyone, you did this before already. Here, you can talk to Pazuzu again. This time, he won't run though! Make sure to heal, and save, then get ready to go. O-------------------------------------O | Pazuzu - 25,000HP | O--------------O-------------------------------------O----------------O | EXP: 618 | Battle Strategy: Pazuzu can do some big damage, with | | GP: 0 | his attacks, but at least he fights alone, and has a | O--------------O weakness - Wind. Use Aero each turn, and between the | | Attack List | two characters, you should be able to do 3,000 damage| | =========== | or so, per turn. His attacks will easily hit for over| | Hurricane | 500 though, so when you get low on HP, take a break | | Piledriver | from attacking, and heal yourself. Also, cure every | | Psycheshield | time he uses Psyche Shield - if you attack, he'll | | Sky Attack | repel it, which is always bad. Wait until he stops, | | Windstorm | then start slamming him again, until he dies. | O--------------O------------------------------------------------------O When you defeat Pazuzu, you'll automatically begin moving through the tower shaft. At the top, you free the Sky Crystal! Open the chest, to get the Sky Coin, then backtrack through the castle and leave, or cast Exit, for a quicker route. It's time to head back to Windia. ________________O=====================================O________________ (________________| Windia |________________) O=====================================O ================= Enemies - None Items - Explosive(s) + Heal Potion(s) + Cure Potion(s) + Seed(s) Boss - None ================= Go into Otto's house, and talk to Otto, when you arrive. Who should come to greet you, but Reuben! Kaeli leaves, allowing Reuben to take her place as your parner, ans you're told to get the Thunder Rock from Arion, who's at Reuben's house. You'll be going to Fireburg now. ________________O=====================================O________________ (________________| Fireburg |________________) O=====================================O ================= Enemies - None Items - Refresher(s) + Seed(s) + Explosive(s) + Thunder Rock Boss - None ================= When you arrive in Fireburg, go to Reuben's house - It's the one to the left of the Hotel. Talk to the man who's lying down in the bed, and he'll give you the thunder Rock that you need. Take it, and do whatever else you need to do in town, like maybve buy some Seeds or Explosives, then leave, and head back to Windia. ________________O=====================================O________________ (________________| Windia |________________) O=====================================O ================= Enemies - None Items - Explosive(s) + Heal Potion(s) + Cure Potion(s) + Seed(s) Boss - None ================= Again, go to Otto's house, and talk to Otto. He'll go to the basement, and power up his machine, and come back shortly. He'll say you can now access Spencer's place! Leave the town, and sure enough, there's a second rainbow path, just north of Pazuzu's Tower, heading to Spencer's Place. Enter Spencers Place - It's your next destination. ________________O=====================================O________________ (________________| Spencer's Place |________________) O=====================================O ================= Enemies - None Items - Monius Crest Boss - None ================= As soon as you enter, Reuben changes the whole layout with a Mega Grenade, causing the world map to flood, freeing Mac's Ship! Don't leave just yet though. First, walk forward, and get into the water. Go left, and blimb up onto another platform. Toss a Mega Grenade at the blocked door, and go back to the water, and back to where you entered the cave, Jump to the platform on the left, and bomb the barricaded door. Go through, and step on the Libra warp pad, to be brought to another part of the cave. Go through the door, and navigate left. There's a fancy chest here, containing the last Crest, the Mobius Crest. Step on the warp near the chest, to be brought to the entrance of the cave again. Now, you can leave. You should now head back to Windia, for a moment. ________________O=====================================O________________ (________________| Windia + Ship Dock |________________) O=====================================O ================= Enemies - None Items - Explosive(s) + Heal Potion(s) + Cure Potion(s) + Seed(s) + Captain Cap Boss - None ================= Again, head to Otto's house. This time, you'll be talking to Kaeli though. She'll give you the Captain Cap, and tell you to give it to her father, Captain Mac. That's the only item you need here, so leave the house. Don't leave town yet, though. Enter the town that's in the north-east section of town, and go downstairs. Step on the Mobius pad, to be brought to the Ship Dock - Also, make sure to grab Bombs and Heal Potions from the chest. Nothing to do at the Dock, but head north, and board the Ship. ________________O=====================================O________________ (________________| Mac's Ship + Windia |________________) O=====================================O ================= Enemies - None Items - Explosive(s) + Heal Potion(s) + Cure Potion(s) + Refresher(s) Boss - Chimera + Thanatos + Naga + Beholder + Manticor + Gargoyle ================= You'll enter the ship's deck on the right. Head towards the middle, near the stearing wheel, and go down, if you want some bombs. They're in a chest, at the southern tip of the ship. After that, go back to where the wheel is, and head upward, and kill the Chimera. Take a right, and kill the Thanatos, then push the barrell away, to reach a chest with Heal Potions inside. Also, from here, you have acccess to the pole. You can actually climb that, so do so. Climb up, and over the brown pole, pass over the grey one, and climb down another brown one, between two Thanatos. Defeat one or both of them, grab some Heal Potions from the chest, and go down the stairs. You'll enter a very tiny room. Just take the other set of stairs, as it's the only thing in there. From here, head straight down, and kill the Thanatos, and keep going, going up another flight of stairs. In the next room, you reach a fork. If you go right, the floor will break, causing you to fall, and it's a waste of effort. If you do fall, fight your way to the dock, and start over. If you want, you can jump over it though, and get the chest, which contains Refreshers. To move on, just take the stairs on the left. On the next floor, walk straight ahead, and defeat the Gargoyle. After that, head up the stairs, and onto a new floor. Open the fancy chest that's in plain sight, to get Gaia's Armor, then walk downward, and talk to Captain Mac. He'll see the cap, just as Kaeli walks in. Before he can tell you something important, Kaeli takes him away. Just after that, Reuben collapses. You're automatically brought back to Ship Dock Step on the Mobius pad to go to Windia. Go to the Inn, and talk to Phoebe. Reuben will leave, and Phoebe will join in place of him. Rest for the night, to heal, then talk to Mac, who's lying down. He'll tell you you an take his ship. With this knowledge, go to the world map, and head back to Mac's ship, and take the wheel! You'll reach a new entrance to Focus Tower. ________________O=====================================O________________ (________________| Focus Tower + Doom Castle |________________) O=====================================O ================= Enemies - Shadow + Gorgon + Minotar Zombie + Phanquid + Iflyte + Cerberus + Stheno + Freezer Crab + Chimera Items - Aegis Shield + Arrow(s) + Refresher(s) + Heal Potion(s) + Cure Potion(s) Sub-Boss- Skullrus Rex + Stone Golem + Twinhead Wyvern + Zuh Boss - Dark King ================= The first thing to do, is set your sights on getting the Aegis Shield. Go to the left, and defeat the Shadow at the start. Keep going up and to the right from here, until you reach the last (sixth) set of stairs. Go down them, and allow the floor to move you downward, until you reach some bones. Walk to the left, and be pushed down more, until your near stairs, and a pile of bones. Bomb them, and climb up to defeat the Grogon ( You fought these in the Bone Dungeon...too easy!) and get the chest with the sheild in it. Now, walk acorss the sand to the left, back to where you entered. Again, walk to the sixth staircase, and alk down, but when you reach the first pair of bones, don't move. Instead, grapple to the right, and climb the stairs, defeating the Gorgon. From here, grapple two platforms to the left, from here, defeat the Minotar Zombie - Another weak enemy. After beating him, climb down the wall, and walk straight down. Open the chest for some cures, and toss a bomb at the bones on your left, then grapple there. Climb the stairs, and get ready to face the first sub-boss in this area - Skullrus Rex! O-------------------------------------O | Skullrus Rex - 10,000 HP | O--------------O-------------------------------------O----------------O | EXP: 759 | Battle Strategy: This is like a clone of the Flamerus| | GP: 0 | Rex you fought at the Bone Dungeon, earlier. This | O--------------O time, two Shadows are helping him, but you also have | | Attack List | a new arsenal of attacks. Just use Flare and White. | | =========== | The shadows will fall with your second attack, making| | Bone Missile | the fight 1 on 2 in your favor. You'll be doing big | | Rip Earth | damage, so the fight won't last long. | | Sleep Powder | | | Twin Fang | | O--------------O------------------------------------------------------O After beating the Skullrus Rex, go through the stairs he was blocking. You'll be in a cave-room of Focus Tower. Go through the next set of stairs, and you'll be back in the main area of Focus Twoer, in front of a green door. Open it, and walk through. Go throguh the first open door, and you'll have just entered an ice area. Kill the Shadow on the left, and stab the statue to open the first door. In the next room, head left, and jump the gap to the next platform. Stab the statue to open a door, which you can head through. Kill the Phanquid on the other side, and stab another statue. Now, leave the room, and jump back across to the right. Head right from where you entered, and grapple to the platform on the right. Go through the door, and get some Heal Potions from the chest, and head down, at the next juntion. Grapple downard, and stab the statue. From here, head all the way to the right, into another room (jumping the gap when you reach it.) Stab the statue that's here as well. Now, leave, and kill the Phanquid, and go through the unlocked door, picking up some arrows from the chest. Kill the Freezer Crab on the other side, and stab the statue. A door will open, but you can't reach it from here. Go back to the middle platform, and go through the open door. Stab the statue, and go through the door on the left. Keep heading left, stab the statue, and jump the gap to the left. Go around and through the "building" getting some Frefreshers from the chest, and jump the gap. In the next room, kill the Freezer Crab. Head through the door on top, grapple to the right, and get ready to face the Stone Golem! O-------------------------------------O | Stone Golem - 10,000HP | O--------------O-------------------------------------O----------------O | EXP: 762 | Battle Strategy: Another boss clone. This one takes | | GP: 0 | the form of Ice Golem, but made of stone. White works| O--------------O good, so use that., so use that. Besides damaging him| | Attack List | alot, the first or second use of it, will wipe out | | =========== | the two Cerberuses that are fighting with him. Just | | Axe Bomber | don't use Flare, as he's strong against Fire, and | | Hypno Sleep | you'll be fine. | | Ice Block | | | Mega Punch | | | Snow Storm | | | Stomp Stomp | | | | | O--------------O------------------------------------------------------O After beating the Stone Golem, backtrack throughh the area, back to the main stairway. The two metal blocks on the side will have dissapeared, allowing you to continue going up. Enter the door on the next floor, to reach the Fire portion of Doom Castle. When you enter, head to the right, until you see some blocks in the lava that you can jump to. Jump across them, and onto the next platform. Jump to the ones on the left, reaching a platform with a Stheno on it, from here. Kill the Stheno, and get some Cure Potions and Arrows from the chests where she was. Jump down, to another platform, and kill the Cerberus. Open the two chests - One contains Arrows, the other contains Heal Potions - and grapple to the left. From here, jump straight ahead, until reaching an Iflyte, which you should of course, kill. After you defeat him, head left, and downward, and then to the right. Grapple to the platform on your right, defeat the Stheno, and walk forward to greet the next Sub-boss, the Twinhead Wyvern! O-------------------------------------O | Twinhead Wyvern - 15,000HP | O--------------O-------------------------------------O----------------O | EXP: 600 | Battle Strategy: This is a clone of the Lava Dome | | GP: 0 | boss, the Dualhead Hydra. He fights with a Stheno, | O--------------O and an Ifylte, but they won't be too much trouble, if| | Attack List | you take them out from the get-go with Meteor from | | =========== | Hero, and White from Phoebe. After the Stheno dies, | | Fire Breath | switch to having them both use White. Keep this up, | | Para-breath | until the enemies are all dead. | | Poison Breath| | | Scrunch | | | Stone Gas | | O--------------O------------------------------------------------------O After killing the third sub-boss, again, head back to the main stairway. Move up to the next floor, and go through the next door, into an area that was made to look like Pazuzu's Tower. Be careful not to fall in this area, or you'll drop to the previous fire room, again! Start, by going straight, until you reach the first fork. Take a right, and go down, through a door at the next juntion. Defeat the Cerberus, and go up the steps, to the higher platform. From here, head right, and head straight along the path, until you reach a Chimera that you should kill. Keep following the path, until you reach a Thanatos, blocking some steps. Kill him, and head down the steps, and through the door. Keep going straight, and kill the Cerberus, going through another door, putting you behind a glass wall. Head right, defeating the enemies behind the glass, until you reach another door. From here, head south, until you defeat a Chimera, and go through another door. Don't go all the way through though! Go under the doorway, and take aright. Stop at the middle doorway, and head upwards. Take the stairs, and kill the Chimera. Head along this path, to the left, until you reach another Chimera. Kill this one as well. From here, it's a linear path to the center. Defeat one final Thanatos, and get ready to take on Zuh. O-------------------------------------O | Zuh - 20,000HP | O--------------O-------------------------------------O----------------O | EXP: 750 | Battle Strategy: This go is supposed to be a clone | | GP: 0 | of Pazuzu...But he actually has LESS HP. Oh well, | O--------------O you're going to kill him all the same. Use Flare | | Attack List | every time it's Hero's turn, and have Phoeber use | | =========== | White. Keep doing this, and in one or two rounds, | | Hurricane | Zuh's buddies will go down, and after dealing down | | Piledriver | some more pain, so will Zuh. Remember, be careful of | | Psycheshield | his Psycheshield, attack, and you'll be fine. | | Sky Attack | | | Windstorm | | O--------------O------------------------------------------------------O That was the last of the sub-bosses! Head back to the main stair way, and head to the top floor. Walk to the middle platform, and you'll place the four crystals in the statue. Chests containing Arrows, Cure Potions, Heal Potions, and Seeds will open. Stock and heal completely, and head through the door on the top side of the room. Go through the door, and get read for the final battle... O-------------------------------------O | Dark King - 40,000HP | O--------------O-------------------------------------O----------------O | EXP: 0 | Battle Strategy: First of all, before I go into the | | GP: 0 | real way to fight him, I'll tell you, you can use | O--------------O Cure on him to do 30,000+ damage! That really takes | | Attack List | the fun out of it though, so I hope you'll use the | | =========== | following method instead: Have Hero use Flair, and | | Dark Sabre | have Phoebe sue White. Also, since Flare should be | | Fire Sword | doing more damage, have Phoebe be in charge if curing| | Ice Sword | and using seeds. Soon, he'll grow more arms, and get | | Golden Web | stronger, and have more defense. Keep hitting him the| | Mirror Sword | same, though - and remember, healing is crucial. Most| | Mega Flare | of his attacks do 500+ damage per turn - Often to | | Mega White | both characters. Heal as soon as/if someone dies, and| | Quake Axe | keep attacking. Soon, he'll transform again, into a | | Spark | Spider. From here, watch out for Mega White and Mega | | Spider Kids | Flare, as they're both very strong. Soon his arms | | Super Stab | will singe. Keep whacking away at his HP, and he'll | | | finally die. | O--------------O------------------------------------------------------O After beating the Dark King, the mysterious cloaked man appears in front of you. I won't spoil the rest, but enjoy the ending, you've earned it. _____________________ ________________________/ \________________________ ( \_______ 7.
