Final Fantasy 7: Before Crisis
Released in early 2004 in Japan, Final Fantasy VII: Before Crisis continued the newly announced Compilation of Final Fantasy VII, however it broke many barriers within the series itself. Before Crisis is a game for mobile phones, as well as a prequel to the original classic. Nonetheless, it has achieved success in Japan, unfortunately the only country where it has been released.
Before Crisis takes place six years prior to the first game, and places heavy emphasis on the story of the Turks, the organization hired by Shinra to perform special operations. Characters like Reno, Rude, and Elena took the spotlight. The game delved deeper into the backstories of these characters and the Shinra Corp, revealing many significant plot points and totaling a large twenty-five chapters. Before Crisis focused on the deep conflict between AVALANCHE and the Turks, and the story was gradually uncovered through episodic content.
Unforuntly, due to cellphones in other parts of the world being technologically inferior to those in Japan, Before Crisis will more then likely not see the light of day outside of Japan.
