Bravely Default: For the Sequel DLC

August 28th, 2013 by Tony Garsow

With producer Tomoya Asano’s constant teasings of a sequel to Bravely Default: Flying Fairy, it’s not surprising to see an announcement like this finally come to fans. Bravely Default: For the Sequel is a DLC for the original Bravely Default on Nintendo 3DS. Scheduled for release in Japan on December 5th, 2013 for 2900 yen — it will include a 4x speed mode for battle, a new Auto-mode (presumably for battle), additional save slots (increased to three), and a difficulty toggle.

The game will also include elements that will — as the title implies: lead directly into the Bravely Default sequel.

Bravely Default is currently scheduled for a 2014 release in North America and 2013 for Europe.

Update: Bravely Default will be localized as Bravely Default: Where the Fairy Flies.

Awesome! Good to see that Square isn’t TOTALLY ignoring its good games in favor of MMOs and Lightning dress up games.

  • Tony Garsow

To their credit, I can vouch their new MMO is quite good.

  • Hey Tony have you by any chance tried Bravely Default? If really, really nothing else, which isn’t so at all, the music for the game seems on the pompous oh-yeah-this-is-it! side, at least the battle themes. It’s FF sweetness with a blink all over it. That Yoshida art makes it all stand out too. This might be a lovely game, definitely not worth spoiling.
