Bravely Default Now Available in North America

February 7th, 2014 by Tony Garsow

At long last Bravely Default is now available in North America. Released in 2012 in Japan and few months ago in Europe, Bravely Default is developed by Silicon Studio in conjunction with Square Enix for the Nintendo 3DS. A hearkening back to the Final Fantasy games of yesteryear, it has everything you might expect: four crystals and four heroes of light trying to save the world, a job system, and turn-based combat. One could say the game bravely returns to a classic style — a “default” style of JRPG.

That’s not to say Bravely Default doesn’t have it’s own unique charm. You’ll be able to store up turns and spend them through the Brave & Default system, opting to defend over going all out. Final Fantasy Tactics, XII, and XIV character designer Akihiko Yoshida lends his unique style and Revo with Linked Horizon provides an intoxicating and melodic soundtrack.

Available today in all regions, Bravely Default comes with the creature comforts of For the Sequel — a recent re-release in Japan that contains extra features like 4x battle speed. A sequel has also been announced for the 3DS in Japan: Bravely Second.

Get your hands on Bravely Default today? Live in Europe and care to share your (non-spoiler) thoughts about the game? Leave us a comment below!
