Bravely Default Hits Europe December 6th

October 1st, 2013 by Tony Garsow

Bravely Default: Where the Fairy Flies will arrive on European shores December 6th, 2013. The Nintendo 3DS title is currently being localized for overseas audiences, including a North American release scheduled for 2014. Featuring a cast of four heroes and the crystals of light, we won’t hold it against you to think that this is much like a classic Final Fantasy title. A robust job system accompanies Bravely Default, much in the vein of Final Fantasy V, and a turn-based battle system that makes use of a “Brave and Default” point system to build up your next attacks.

Tiz, Agnes, Ringabel, Edea, and the rest of the Bravely Default cast are designed by Akihiko Yoshida — lead character designer behind Final Fantasy Tactics, Final Fantasy XII, and Final Fantasy XIV. The game is developed by Silicon Studio (3D Dot Game Heroes) in conjunction with Square Enix. The game’s soundtrack is composed by Revo and performed by Linked Horizon.

Bravely Default will include many extra features and improvements coming with a Japanese re-release called For the Sequel, set for December 9th.

  • How very nice. But, was there ever an explanation as to why Europe is provided with an earlier release? I can’t possibly complain, nevertheless I never heard any reason, specific or broad.

I found this Revo artist a bit of an odd thing ever since I heard about him being related to SE in regards to this game, but after taking a quick listen at “Conflict’s chime” and “Fighting to the end”, the battle and boss battle themes respectively, I can only look forward to what I imagine is a wonderful soundtrack. As far as battling goes, haven’t been pumped by a theme since XIII’s “Saber’s Edge”.
As for this dub, the thought alone of being able to change audio tracks is a bit a of saver. They feel quite off in general.

Yoshida’s designs, more than in FF Tactics and Tactics Ogre, appear here in another particular balance of the lovely and the sumptuous. The characters are almost sensual in a distinct manner.

Also, good thing these little videos are not more than visual snippets. Nothing unnecessary being revealed, they don’t need to sell the game that way and that’s refreshing in today’s standards.
